T@B Trailer
I notice pwb01 has a T@B microtrailer. I've seen a couple on the road and they're extremely cool. With gas prices soaring, microtrailers might be the way to go for shorter trips. I'd like to know what others think about them.

When we were looking for a small trailer we considered the T&B but found a 1982 Sunline 15.5 B to be a better choice, just as light, more cargo capacity and taller interior dimensions. We also looked at the T&D and the Sunline is still a better solution with equal feature but taller inside and lighter.
I admit they're cute, nice color and modern deign but you better be short and have a bigger tow vehicle than our Honda.
We just couldn't beat the 15.5 foot Sunline with side bath, lighter, taller and cost a lot less.

We looked at the T@b when we had our PUP. We thought it was a nice little trailer, BUT we wanted a bathroom. The T@Da gives you both. But is cost prohibitive. You can buy alot of fuel for the cost of buying and insuring a 2nd TT. I'm sure they give much better has mileage due to the shape. We lost 6 mpg when we went from the PUP to the QUE (16 to 10 towing with the TrailBlazer), then 2.5 mpg when we went from the QUE to the Tweety. (towing with the Beast) If you have unlimited funds and want to be environmentally friendly I think it's a great idea for short trips!

We loved our T@B when we had it. They are well built and light weight (about 1600#) and very popular in Europe but they cost more than a 24' full sized unit. (about $16000) The T@DA is way out of sight with the cost (over $20k) and the bathroom is little more than a port-a-pottie. (cartridge system) They are a good alternative for towing cost but you pay up front. We miss the T@B a little but we do enjoy getting up in the middle of the night now without involving shoes and flashlights.
I like my Sunline. It's a good size for 2.
Google the parent company in Germany, Tabbert Caravan, and you'll see some very elaberate units. The T@B itself has more models there including an off road model.

I always joke with Cindy that we should get oneof these for the dogs, as two dogs make a 2499 all that much smaller
$16,000!!!!! Holy Moly!! I guess I'll let them have their couch!

We still own our T@B as well as the Sunline. It is a neat little trailer for a quick weekend at a car show, etc. especially if your boondocking. DW and I joke around that it is the perfect trailer for a single guy as we noticed that it ALWAYS attracts a lot of visitors (mostly women) who always want a tour of the unit.
As far as price goes; I was lucky enough to order a new 2005 for $7,995.00. Now prices have shot up sky high. LOL it's the only RV we have ever bought that has appreciated in value. It is a lot of fun for an overnite trip, but in comparison our Sunny is like a five star hotel loaded w/luxury.
Also you may want to check out the new Shasta...that's right Shasta is back you can check that out at: http://www.coachmenrv.com/products/m...&Series=Shasta

I remember the Shasta brand being pretty popular when I was a kid. It's nice to see an old brand come back from the dead. That Airflyte is very cool. Thanks for the link.

I believe the Scotty brand is still around too under the Serro name. For a small trailer google the "icamp". It's a China import. Not the quality of a T@B (nor Sunline) but with the same hefty price.
We used to pay for quality, now we pay for lightweight. edzius is right about the T@B's appreciating in price. Additionally, when I traded mine for the Sunline, it was sold before they finished my walkaround on the new Sunline.

Shasta intereting
The Shasta's interesting but compared to my 1982 Sunline the only advantage it has is interior height. It weighs more and has less. I don't undertand why there is something modern but equivalent to our little Sunline.
We continue to look for a 2500 lb modern trailer designed for two people.
