Hey John I agree, Pictures make a world of differance. I hate when someone discribes something technical and I just cant seem to grasp it? I'm a visual kind of guy. Show me once, and I'm good to go, but discribe it to me and I become all confused.
I love your upgrades, I only wish I was as knowledeable with tools as you were. I show those upgrades to Cindy and she just laughs saying "Yeah, he built that, do you realize how much it would cost us to have it built!?"
And I love the Cybercamping!! It would be a great name for a website or a forum title!!!
Happy Camping to everyone and like John said, no worries about winter, just Cyber Camp till the weather breaks
Pat

Just HAD to sign up for an axle flip....happening next Friday. --DONE--
Found out that once I started thinking (and checking out Pat and Cindy's website- along with the mods forum here) there is so much more to do than my last post...
Definitely going with a third set of stab jacks --Never mind, working on another solution
and then I'm going to make the screen door into a storm door -Clear slider on order, in process...
a water filter setup --on order
some sort of gutter downspouts --got 'em and a tube of Dicor...need warmer weather....
and a faux-hookup VIP site like some of you jokers have (I love it!).
Tint the windows a bit for privacy, and good-to-go! I am a bit of a privacy freak- so the clear glass just won't do much longer. I don't even like driving cars/ trucks without tint...
And then maybe I'll figure out a mod of my own that I don't have to steal from someone else here...
e.t.a. pre-axle flip, measures 29" from level ground (both sides) to bottom of wheel arch centered between tandems... just so I remember measures 34" post-flip...
edit #2- updated....

Well Leo and I are off the a Camping World RV show over in Syracuse today.....we'll see what "new things" we find and go from there!
I'm leaving my credit card home to avoid any major temptations!
Some purchases really aren't MODS but I guess whatever we find might turn into a MOD!

That's cheating! You cant go to a camping show and leave the credit card at home!
Just make sure you bring a note pad and a digital camera to remember all the ideas!

I have my MaxAirvents to install, but I think I am going to get the hinges before I put them on.
I would also like to flip the axles.
And I guess the last big item would be to improve the stability with something like the STEADYfast trailer stablizer found at http://www.steadyfast.com/ Anyone have experience with these?
Of course there is an RV show coming up in Atlanta, so who knows what will be added to the list! :P

That Steadyfast looks interesting, like a panhard bar setup (I think that's the part) for an auto.
It should contribute to stiffening up (especially) the lateral movement, but I think I'm going to go with a 3rd set of jacks like Pat and Cindy (emam) have, just for ease of use and less stuff to worry about. If something goes South on a 6- jack system , it's easy enough to find replacements.
There's a camper show in Boston next weekend that Kelly and I are probably going to, we'll see if there are any interesting things up there!

The real issue with the Steadyfast is the cost. It is very expensive, and therefor, not at the top of my list in the bang-for-the-buck department, especially since I am just a weekender at this point. If I were in my Sunline every day, I might feel different.
Later,
David

Well, DW has decided that we don't need the couch and the little folding table. She doesn't like to have to stow the table.
She wants two rocking recliners and a permanent table with some kind of drop leaf between them. The water heater is under the middle of the couch. So, I will have to build a cover for that, then attach a table over it somehow. That will be a project for summer break. Being a teacher does have advantages. Having June and July off is a big one.
She also wants a ceiling to floor cabinet in the corner of the garage area. She's tired of stepping over her shoes and stuff to get in bed. I think I can build that during Spring Break.
I have lots of other non-trailer related projects to do as well. Of course, her projects usually get priority over my projects.
But, I like to make her happy.

immediate response needed re:04 solaris
Hello, after reading what people are planning for their Sunlines, I learned the '04s have leaky vents!?
I just joined this site thinking I might finalize my purchase of an '04 267sr on 4/21.....
SHOULD I CANCEL THE DEAL DUE TO LEAKY VENTS?

Sunlines are such fine coaches that I would not let a vent issue stop me from purchasing one. First, I would check the condition of the vents and determine if they are leaking or in bad shape. If they are in rough shape, I would ask the dealer to replace them as part of the sales negotiations. If you are buying from a private owner, you could offer less to compensate for the vent replacement.

I have been modifying our 1982 Sunline 15.5SB since last summer in preparation for our Labrador Trip beginning in mid-May ending in mid-July. I have already done at least a couple dozen modifications to this marvelous little 25 year old trailer. My final projects are to add Dish Satellite TV service and an LCD TV, interestingly both items that did not exist when this trailer was built.
As well the side bath truly has a gymnast’s shower so I’m expanding the shower area by providing a half circle curtain just outside the door to make drying off easy and private.
Lastly I’m storing two expanded metal mats under the trailer body “just incase”.
As to gas prices, it’s now about $5 an imperial gallon in Newfoundland with 3900 miles to go. Gas is expensive, though if I stayed home I’d probably spend about half what I’m spending without seeing those marvelous icebergs in Newfoundland or the wilderness of Labrador. If my projections are correct the gas will represent about 20% of our costs for the trip. Though if anyone is passing out the gas cards I’ll take one.

I don't think it's an issue of the vents leaking, it's just they had a bad batch that the metal rusted real bad. I suppose after 10 or so years it would start to leak from having huge holes in it, but now all there'd be is just a rusty vent shroud.
It's very possible that the coach might have already had this taken care of. If it hasn't, be sure to try to get the dealer to replace them.
Jon
