Has anyone replaced the exterior weather stripping on their Sunny
I have the 1850, Saturn, and am looking to replace all the broken, plastic weather stripping, any sources out there for this product. The photo keep coming in upside down, but it's the slip in white plastic I'm looking for. there is a thin slot it fits in, and it's pretty dry and brittle, so I've been taking it off.

This is what you want I'm pretty sure:
Hehr Screw Cover - Screw Covers and Trims
And for the trim around the baggage doors and entry door, I think the style is like this (but check the dimensions):
Elixir Screw Cover - Screw Covers and Trims
In both cases, you need it in POLAR WHITE.

Thanks so much, It is exactly what I am looking for. Not a weather strip but a screw cover. Will measure and order the right ones.

Yep the strips are strictly cosmetic, they don't provide any sealing. Even though I guess however, they prevent water from seeping in around loose screws, but that's minimal. They sure look ugly when they get so brittle that they crack apart.

I don't know if you have any curves to go around, but in my experience it is much easier to work this stuff in warm weather. Perhaps keeping a hair dryer or heat gun handy will help you. I'm in Florida, warm weather to me may be hot weather to you!
Have fun with it!
Tom

Tom, are you talking about the weatherstripping that is around the edges from front to back, up along the trailer corners, along the roof, then back down the back of the trailer? I was wondering what I should replace that with.

Hi Gang, this is what I mean, in addition to a source for the screw covers, thanks Sunline Fan and Mainah, I'm looking to replace the missing weatherstripping on the "edges" of the trailer, look at this photo and you can see the "slot" where the missing weatherstripping belongs. The slot runs from the front of the trailer, up to the roof, then down the back, as seen here.

Photokit,
I was referring to the screw cover trim around the windows and hatches. I guess mine has radius corners, where yours are square. The corner trim that goes up the edges of the trailer is probably pretty much the same stuff, perhaps a larger size. I was able to clean that up pretty well, while the trim around the hatches and doors just wouldn't come clean, so I replaced it.

Radius corner windows use a flexible rubber screw cover, not hard plastic.
Photokit, the corner molding uses a different material. It is soft vinyl:

I believe you do need the 1" wide stuff, and 100' should do all four corners. You'll need more if you do the roof edge too.

How difficult is it to install moulding Trim
Thanks Sunline for your quick response, I will measure and order the molding trim. Have you installed it? Is it difficult to install?
Thanks, Kit

Not at all, The old stuff will just disintegrate in your hand as you try to remove, so plan to bring a little bucket along or something to collect it all in. A flat blade screwdriver may help get it started too.
To install the new window molding, simply align the double lip to line up with the receiving lip on the window, which is probably toward the inside of the window. Give it a small tap with your fist and it should snap in. I'd precut the pieces.
For the U channel stuff on the storage doors/entry door frame, you will need to kinda squeeze the new stuff with your fingers to get it started. I'd use a rubber mallet lightly to get it in, or a fist with something to space it away from the door frame.
For the corner trim, there's a technique. The roof part will be covered with roof seam sealant at the end, so you'll have to peel that away (and replace it later). They will have put a screw in to hold the trim on. Remove that screw and start pulling out the trim. When you install the new, start by installing the screw through it again. Then work down, kinda pinching each side of the trim to make it narrow enough to fit in there. It can't hurt to stick the roll in a warm oven or under a hairdryer first to make it more flexible. A screw will hold the trim on the bottom as well, what will need to be replaced in the new. Make sure you don't stretch this material at all when you install, because the sun will shrink it and make it break sooner.
