How to replace outside light
How can I replace the light bulb in this exterior light? I'd like to replace with LED but I haven't been able to figure out how to remove the cover.

Clearance light, tail light, or porch/utility light?
The clearance lights are one unit, the light pushes into the back. You have to remove the two screws, remove the light from the trailer, and turn it on the rubber socket. Then you can access the light and change the bulb. That said, the front and rear lights are both covered on top with Dicor roof sealant, to prevent water from seeping behind. The foam gasket isn't really sufficient long term. So if you remove these, you'll need to scrape off the old, and replace with new. Don't use silicone, only use the Dicor 501 sealant. You could use the Dicor 551 non-self leveling, but you can't use that on your roof if you have any spots needing touch up. In terms of LEDs, not all LED bulbs will fit these lights, since they are pretty shallow. Many of the eBay ones are very tall. I put LEDs in all the clearance lights of my '97 and used Sylvania bulbs from Autozone/O'Reilly. They aren't cheap, but they are compact and fit well in the light housing without any modification.
The taillights are easy- two tabs hold the lens on. Take a screwdriver or something small and thin and push on the white plastic tab on one side of the light. Don't push too far or you might break it off. Push just enough to release the lens.
The porch lights are tricky, I've never had one off, but supposedly there's a trick to getting the lens off. JohnB explained it somewhere here.

Were you able to get the cover off?
They can be a bugger at times. If you are still having issues, I can type and take a pic of the latest trick I learned on how to get the cover off.
If it is real cold out, suggest not trying until it warms up. You have to actually flex the plastic cover and with the lower temps we have been having, it for sure could crack flexing in the cold.
Hope this helps
John

I haven't tried again. Should have tried yesterday when it was a bit warmer (50s). It's going to be teens and twenties for the next week or so. I'm going to wait for a little warmer weather.

OK, in the meantime I will take a few pics and post of the technique on how to use a small screwdriver in the exact right place to compress the lens. I use to compress the lens by hand, but it is very hard to do and hard to control how much squeeze. The small screwdriver method offers a lot more control and ease.
The arctic temps have sent in again here west of you. It was 12 F with 22 mph wind blowing as I was snow plowing this morning. My barnyard was filled with a 3 foot snow drift... The lawn was about blown clean... Why can't the snow just stay on the lawn??? It will not get above freezing again until next Friday...
