1985 T1950, elec.brake magnet, round, needed.

Seems something as simple as a magnet isn't quite so simple.

The wires are broken on one of my brake magnets.
Seems the Round Magnet with the Round hole has been superseded to something else. Now the fun begins. Web pages say "replace the arm", sure.....where's a link to the new arm that takes the new model magnet?
Where can find a "new old stock" magnet so I don't have to replace the arm? HELP !!!

10" Dexter Drum model:8-237, 1-1/2" brakes.

Have you checked into a complete replacement? Might not be as expensive as you think.

I've been looking at a couple sites, may have to go that route.
Thanks.

We started doing the whole replacement 3 years ago where I worked because it was cheaper than the parts and labor.

The snag is that on this Dexter Axle, the backing plate is Welded to the axle, so, all I can do is replace parts. It's been 3 days since I talked to someone at Dexter Axle, they took my name, home phone, cell phone & e-mail address..........not a Word from them in 3 days!
