Question Help Im New!

Just brought a 1997 sunline solaris camper trailer which is 18 feet long. I have a busted sewage tank and need to know where to find one. I also would like to know which model of camper that i now own, as my ownership does not give me model number it just gives me a vin number. I would also like to obtain a owners manuel on this trailer as my husband is very handy and can do anything and it needs a few things fixed....can anybody help me??
I'm in Canada.
thanks mae

Hi maefleur73, welcome to the Sunline Club.

There are several places online to find a blackwater tank but you will need to know the dimensions of your existing one. Here is one source: Black Water Tank Replacements on Sale - PPL Motor Homes

As for the model number, there is a member here that is an expert. Jon (Sunline Fan) may be able to convert your VIN to the particular model number. Try sending him a PM (personal message)

The manual for each unit is just a big 3 ring binder with manuals for each of the items (fridge, water heater, etc.). You can find some of that by clicking the Files tab at the top of the page.

It looks like a 97 about 19 would be the T1950....check the brochure and see if the floorplan looks like yours.

You can also send a private message to Sunline Fan, he might be able to tell you your model # by the vin #

Also, you can go into the "files" section of this forum, and look for the brochure for the year of your camper. Then browse thru the brochure until you see your floor plan.

You can also take some pics of the interior and post them here and I'm sure someone will help you identify your floor plan.

Concerning the owners manual, it was pretty generic. Your best bet is to get the make/model # for all your appliances and go online to locate the proper manual and print it out. Pretty much need one for water heater, refrigerator,
stove/oven, air conditioner, and any other mechanical items.

The brass plate only applies to a few select model years, I believe 1989 to 1991 or 1992. Otherwise, they were plastic after that.

Welcome to the club and congrats on your purchase. We are also from Ontario. What part of Ontario are you from. With regards to the holding tank, you make want to check out replacement ones from Icon Direct This company is located in Manitoba and they have been great to deal with. One thing to consider when dealing with companies in the US vs ones in Canada is that you must factor in the cost a courier will charge you for clearing the items into Canada. UPS is one of the highest customs clearing fees I have run into.

Now depending on where you are located in Ontario, if in Southern Ontario, you may want to consider a trip to Elkhart IN and visit the RV outlet stores to pickup the supplies you need. Two of the best outlet stores I have found for both price and selection are

Bontragers Surplus

Johnsons RV Surplus

By the way I should mention we love to see pictures of everyones trailer. When you get a chance, please do post pictures of your trailer.
