Modifications to T2499
Here are some modifications we made to our T2499 (with pix finally)
1. Spice storage and plastic bags - glued long strips of velcro to inside of pantry door then glued small pieces of velcro to plastic spice bottles and boxes of plastic bags.
2. Found that behind the radio is completely wasted open space so we added a drawer on either side. The stain got a little too dark but the drawer space is great.
3. Did not like the slippery bed cover so I cut it up and made shoe storage for the bottom of the bed and pockets for inside the wardrobe doors.
4. Took down the TV flip shelf in bedroom (used it in my sewing room at home) and put smaller flip shelf in kitchen so refrig door could still be opened.
5. Used suction cup hooks in shower to hang jackets, backpack, etc. We just pile them on the bed when using the shower.
6. My husband put a sliding drawer in the cabinet under the frig for a place to store pans and lids.
7. We also added an over-the-door double hook coat rack on the sliding door in the bedroom (don't seem to have a pix of this).

Kathy,
I just tried to edit your post to make them show up. I can't. When I got the raw pic, the only way it will open is when it asks if I want to save or open it, which the forum won't accept to show it here. Your mods look great though!

Kathy, you need to hit the img button at the end of the url. If you look closely, the starts the next. Each one should start with .
When you are editing a message, it should look like this:

Kathy: Great mods! I wish I had your talent with a sewing machine as there are a lot of projects I'd take on.

Kathy,
Those are great ideas. I especially like the suction cup hook idea. We had bought several but most surfaces are textured so the wouldn't work. When my wife sees your pictures I'll have more projects to do.

OK more things to add to Leo's "honey do" list......I especially like the sliding "shelf" under the refrigerator and really like the fold down shelf by the sink - across from the refrigerator!!!
My problem is, we have finally gotten the addition on the house, to a point that needs "finishing" and of course we've just ordered a new kitchen....and guess who is doing the work!
We need a longer spring/summer period to get everything done!

Pam and Steve,
Yes we did add the pegboard to the pantry. Had to remove the pantry pullout first. We use is to store long things like umbrellas, Swiffer, fly swatter (with bag around business end!) and broom, although the broom kept swinging out and knocking the pantry door open during travel so we ended up moving it to a corner by the bedroom door.
My husband wants me to tell anyone working on the plumbing that Sharks Tooth solderless connectors work great. We added a water filter behind the kitchen drawers and did not have the $100 tool needed to crimp those hard rubber pipes. Found the Shark Teeth at either Home Depot or Lowes and they worked perfectly the first time with absolutely no leaks. They just slide on; there is a special tool that came with them that is used to take the connectors off so we just stapled it in a bag to the board where the filter is attached.

Kathy,
I really liked the mods. Thanks for sharing them. I especially like the suction cups in the shower for hanging coats. I was looking at adding a spring loaded shower curtain bar in the shower stall in order to hand coats on, but I like your suction cup idea better. Would you mind telling me where you foudn them?

Suction cup hooks
I found them at Altmeyers - a bed and bath type of place. Bed Bath and Beyond might also have them.
The cups work pretty good. I wet them before I put them up. Occasionally one falls down but we only hang unbreakable things on them - like jackets.

suction cup hooks
I just saw the suction cup hooks at Lowe's last night. They were $1.98 for one large one. They were hanging on a strip in the shelf aisle.

Well Kathy,
Now you have done it. I was looking over your mods AGAIN, ad you have spawned a few new ideas in my head. Think I'll make a set of pockets like you have in the bedroom closet, and attach it to the inside of the pantry door for the boxes of baggies, etc.. (I find that self-stick stuff likes to let go in the heat) Might even make up a couple more for inside the pantry and bedroom shirt closet. I'll look at adding a shelf/basket under the fridge. I DO have to add a second pullout basket under my cooktop(I deleted the oven when ordering Sunny) and have put one sliding basket in, but I want another one.
HUM, now can I get brave enuff to do the drawers behind the radio
OH, we do spark so many wonderful ideas to share on this group
Thanks,
Kitty

Hi Kitty,
Glad my ideas were to your liking. So far the velcro has held up - we used industrial strength - not just the stuff you buy at WalMart. The pockets on the wardrobe doors have been very handy for "nightstand" stuff.
We had intended to do away with the oven and have a cupboard there but Sunline closed down before our trailer was built, so we took one of the last T-2499s made that Stoltzfus bought when Sunline closed so we have the oven.
The drawers behind the radio were definitely a challenge getting the sizing. One drawer is longer than the other. We bought drawer slides and my husband built the drawers. You can take the measurements of the drawers at the M&G in Mexico.
See you soon.
KathyH
