Picture MERCY * MERCY * MERCY!
She (our 2002 Solaris T-2053 Sweetheart) is coming home to the river-house today-! I had to stay back with our daughter Audrey- a friend of ours is towing her down for us.

I'm on pins and needles now hoping they get her down off the mountain and back here without incident.

ANYTIME NOW I should hear a truck come down our driveway- with my girl in tow!

Pictures to follow.. WAHOOOOO-!

Picture My On-Going Camp Project!
WAYYY back in 2007, my dad sold me his 2002 Sunline Solaris T-2053 Travel Trailer for $5,000. He was the first owner.

He mentioned wanting to sell it as he felt he had enjoyed the best of his camping days after some 20yrs. of it. I mentioned I would like to buy it, he brought it over to our cabin in the NC mountains and kindly let me make payments w/ no finance charges as I could until pay-off.

I now have the title in my name and I am so proud to be it's second owner-!

Not long after receiving her, life began swirling things my way that left it virtually impossible to do anything toward my dream to go camping. The biggest need at the time was purchasing a vehicle to tow it with. We were crunched hard in the real-estate bubble and lost quite a bit of our financial health due to it. So altho I couldn't afford a truck to tow it with at the time, I use to enjoy it at the cabin as did our guests when they visited.

Then I got the not so bright idea to have it moved to a horse farm I was leasing to take care of my small herd of 7 horses. I felt the camper would be nice there and give my disabled daughter a comfortable place to watch her movies and rest while I was slinging hay. We did enjoy it however the elements there began destroying my beautiful little trailer.

The first bad mistake was leaving the awning out one afternoon to go run an errand. Before my return, a gust of wind ripped it right off the trailer. Ok, I'm a travel trailer amateur here, still today. T

The second was plugging it into an electrical box at the farm that was installed for a previous camper. Well, I'm ashamed to tell you, the amp behind that silver box mounted to a post just like one you'd see in a campground, practically blew up my beautiful little camper. It sounded off with a very loud pop or three and the smell of smoke. I was heart broken.

I found this wonderful site and began my project to restore her to the mint condition my dad gave her to me in. Several members here gave a great deal of their time to assist me and I will be forever greatful to them!

Right in the middle of that project, my husband was diagnosed with stage IV liver cancer and my son was shipped off to Afghanistan. My beautiful but injured TT has sat & sat waiting for my return.

I'm BAAAACCCK! My husband is still battling his liver cancer- but stable. After being forced into retirement from that of an Engineer Dept. Head for our county, he's miserable and in bad need of a project.

He is now wanting to help me get her up and running again and I couldn't be more thrilled! My son completed his mission in Afghansitan and returned home just a few weeks ago.

SO, that's a long introduction I realize- but I felt compelled to explain why it's taken me SOOO long to fix the converter and other electrical problems I have posted about in this forum over a year ago.

I've received what I believe is a good replacement for the converter. We have an RV repair man coming out to install it and hopefully we'll get to enjoy her at our new location down off the mountain, in the foothills of North Carolina, soon!

Our new home is right on a branch of the Roaring River- a perfect place to camp, ha! We had to move off of the mountain due inclimate weather hindering the many needed trips for my husband's treatments.

I'll begin my picture blog here now- I do love pictures and appreciate so much the person who requested I post some!

And one day, I believe I will have the vehicle that will tow my little darling to the many beautiful locations surrounding where we live! But for now, her spot here beside the house overlooking the river will be perfect for us to enjoy as well as our visiting guests!

- I love this site and I look forward to knowing many of you and enjoying your travels-!

Big Smiles Here, Suzie-!
