Well under 10% of Sunlines from the '70s through 1988 with these stickers still have them remaining. They get dirt behind them and the clear film starts to break away and gets severe sun damage. Before you know it, the sticker gets wet, falls apart, and you just have a clear border around where the sticker was. If you clean this area real good (maybe with some rubbing alcohol), get a piece of clear film like they use to protect headlights and the front of vehicles and stick it over the entire thing to buy another 20 years out of it.
