New T-1450 owner....
We just picked up a pretty nice T-1450.
Needs a little tlc but overall a really nice little camper. Nice to find one pretty much original and untouched. It's had a few repairs and fixes. We're very excited to have found it. Doesn't seem to be alot of Sunliners out there for sale, especially locally.
Can't wait to go camping in her!!

It's a 1984. I tried to submit some pics. I clicked on "choose file" and picked some pics but it didn't go through for some reason. I just tried it again.

Looks to be in nice shape for an '84
It's amazing how similar it is to my '96 T-1700

Congrats!! Looks really clean, and also looks more like a 1661.

I was told by the guy we bought itfrom it was a 1450. Not really sure how to tell which model. It is 14' long though. Can I tell off the vin tag?

This trailer sits up pretty high and I noticed the leaf springs are on top of the axle. I have seen pics of Sunliners with leafs above and below axles. Does it make difference as to how it tows or maybe was it set up like that so it would sit level behind a big truck? All I have to tow it with now is my Journey until we get a truck.

FILES area has floor plans and specs of all models and all years of Sunlines. Download your year and compare floor plans.
I've offered this same advice to several other folks in the past few weeks. Please look around as there is so much info available here for the looking.

The last sixth and fifth digit will tell you just the overall length. It looks like a 16' T-1661 to me.

Former owner probably flipped the axle for better clearance--common with Sunny owners, the units are built low.
Do you use weight distributing bars? Looks like it is just on a ball mount...how did it tow?
It looks just like my 1661 (better condition!) except for the end of the dinette bench where mine has an "end" with a lift up table mounted on the sofa side. I hope to tow mine this summer when it is done with refurb--I have a Nissan Murano. Enjoy! Janalee.

The "box" may well be 14' , but Sunline measures from the rear bumper to the hitch.

Thanks
Thanks, must be a T-1660 then. The box is 14.5 ft. The VIN doesn't make much sense to me. Starts with 1L, 17 letters and digits long, ending in D161456. Looks like that is about 300 lbs. heavier than the 1450. Time to upgrade to that truck we want... soon!

Yep, that VIN is for a T-1661. The 16 means 16' overall rough length.

Don't know what you are looking for in a truck I pull a T1700 with a Tacoma no problem so pretty much any truck will work for you.

I just tow with the ball only, no stabilizer bar.The guy I bought it off of told me it was a 1450 and I assumed it was true because it measured 14 ft, not realizing that would be from the ball to the bumper length. He said it weighed 1600 lbs. I towed it home with a Dodge Journey and it actually towed pretty nicely. Knowing now that it weghs over 1900 lbs plus adding gear and everything for camping, it will probably be at about the upper limit, which is only 2500 lbs for the Journey. Was wanting another truck so we'll probably pick up a Ford or Dodge 1/2 ton v-8 shortly. I miss having a truck anyways.
