For anyone suffering from a winter camping depression, I thought I post a picture of our campsite this evening. We left Quarzsite this morning on our way towards Las Vegas for Super Bowl Weekend.

Driving up Route 95 following the Colorado River is one heck of a beautiful drive. We pulled over about 20 miles above Lake Havasu on some BLM Land. Actually there are millions of acres of BLM Land to camp on for free.

This is what our campsite looked like at Sunset

Isnt this country we live in just beautiful!!

Oh how I envy you!

Please send us nice relaxing photos from your journey....it makes this hard winter a little easier to bare.......

Hey Pat,

Thanks for sharing, but you've just make my anticipation for camping season all the greater.
Regardless of that, keep sharing your photos and adventures. We always enjoy them.

Hope you and Cindy have a great Super Bowel week-end in Los Vegas.

Hutch

Pat,
Great pics as always. I hope that will be my retirement trip!
(ps, take the Giants and the points, Shh)

Beautiful picture Pat; glad to see you're still on the road! I feel like I've been holed up for the winter, but those kind of pictures and stories help me feel sane. I used to really love winter and snow, but I don't get much enjoyment out of it anymore. :( I'll enjoy it again when the girls get a little older :) , but here lately, all I can do is think spring :D :!:

Sigh...glad you're having fun :) Steve really shouldn't have taken that month off between jobs. It was just enough of a taste of the full time camping life to make this winter intolerable. When I complained about cabin fever he asked "It's winter, who IS having fun?" I'm betting you can guess my answer

(and for those of you who can't...I said..."Pat and Cindy")

Thanks Everyone for the nice replies.

I'm not sure who we're going to bet on for the Super Bowl, but Vegas is Rocking this weekend!

We hope you're all warm up there in that Cold North East

Come on Ground Hog Day,

Pat

Speaking of Groundhog Day, next year, why don't' you head up north to our neck of the woods, and go to Phil's home on the holiday.

A bit cold, sure, but nothing that two dogs and some Maker's Mark could not handle.

Groundhog Day in the North? I might have to give our 2499 to Lowell and let him outfit it for the winter weather if we were to do that!

But you never know, we just might have to take you up on that

Pat

Funny things is, today, I watched it happen live through my Slingbox, from Paris. Never ever saw it Live when I was home, becasue I am usually asleep at that hour.

The six hour time difference made it easier as it took place about 12:30-1:30 PM over here.

I drive through that town so many times with my trailer in tow, I can't imagine that 30,000 (estimated) people were on hand.

Yeah Pat,

If you and Cindy get back up north, some range time might be possible....

You'd have to give us some warning though.

Greg

ps- 3 1/2 hours til football history is made, one way or the other. I sure hope our Pats win, 'cuz I don't want to watch those stupid Oreo Racing League commercials all next year. I feel far less inteligent than I should every time I get stuck seeing them.

Have a BLAST in Vegas and go up to the end of Upper Bonanza Road past the Mormon Temple (North on LV Blvd., right onto Bonanza) for a GREAT nighttime view of the city from the turnaround that you will find up there. We found it better than the city view from the top of the Stratosphere (and it's free!) I miss Vegas....we were there for our honeymoon, and are going to try to get back next year ('09).
