Your Sunline Tires

When we took delivery of our Sunline one of the first things I noticed was the Mission tires. The various RV forums don't seem to like them very much. What brand came on yours and what has been your experience with them. Frankly I'm not comfortable with these tires since reading all the bad press. What do you think?

I also have the mission tires,I have also seen the bad rap about them,but so far 2 and 1/2 years and several thousand miles and I have not had a single problem.I do however religously check tire press. before hitting the road.I even carry my little air compressor along on every trip incase they need air before leaving the campground.

My 2004 has Maxxis on it. I check tire pressure at every trip, always.

And the steel TT rims I have keep better air pressure that the aluminum one on my Chevy. I check them too.

Now 2 years and about ~8000 miles, and no issues.

I too have not had any problems with the tires I just check they before any use, I have several thousand miles on them.
Yea they had a bad rap and so have alot of other tire makers but we don't know everything, did they run over something, were they inflated at the right psi or under inflated, cracked, dry rotted there are a number of things that could have happened.

Yeah I know it could be any number of things that caused them problems. I will be the best tire owner I can be..and keep my fingers crossed.

Bad Tires

I am very careful with trailer tires. I drive truck on the highway and have been in transport 41 years. We check and check, so since we are in the market for a Sunline 2499 TT we will be checking them too. Since 1989 we have owned a 1977 Bonair PU and one year we lost a wheel then another year we almost lost one. So every time I fuel up or we stop for a break I check. It only takes a moment and can save a bunch of head aches. I hate aluminum wheels since they develope leaks around the tire bead. The van I have now has very fancy wheels and the tire people were careful to seal them properly and so never have leaks. I was very tired of putting in air every few days

My 2000 came with General ST tires which lasted 6 years, No failures. I needed to replace them last year. General no longer has ST tires, So I did research on rv.net, google searches and what ever I could find. I decided to use Maxxis, I could not find a negative report on their tries.
Purchased them from Discaount Tire online ( had the best prices on Maxxis ). Had a local dealer mount and balance them. My total cost with mounting and Balance was $220 replacing all 4.

We had Maxxis tires on our 2004 T-2499. I religiously kept the tire pressure at 50# ..... at about 20,000 miles three of the tires were worn so bad the steel was showing through and the fourth was nearly gone too. Our RV dealer said that this was about normal wear, but advised that the new tires should be Goodyears and also be balanced. Only time will tell if the Goodyears are any better.

Tires

We have Mission tires on our 2006 286. We have had lots of problems on this our first snowbirding trip. We had a flat tire, called AAA they came and changed the tire, put on our brand new spare, we went 20 miles and that one blew out!!!!!!!!! It caused about $1200 damage.

Be ware!!!!!

This product claims to reduce blowout damage. Not sure if it's available in the correct sizes. Not sure what they cost.
