Good Morning Sunliners,
Well, it's a chilly 31 degrees here in the panhandle of West Virginia. Sunny is sitting out in the yard, feeling neglected. I'm taking him to my mechanic monday to get the wheel bearing stuff checked out. Will be departing at about 5pm on the 22nd for Pigeon Forge, TN. Then he gets a rest til April 8th, when I head back to Pigeon Forge for a get-to-gether with the Open Roads Singles group that I'm a member of. I am sorta the hostess of the GTG as I arranged it. Buy the way, I hate winter!!! 10 more years and I hope to be where it is warm in the winter

Not us. We took the Sunline to Michigans UP for a week for the last week of September. Very cold and rainy but that was ok. Then I put snow tires on the van and we took it downstate last weekend. Wind and snow thie time, but thats what the electric is for. We prefer to use a ceramic space heater, but at the worst we could make sure the battery was well charged and use the furnace. We plan to keep on using it. We dont bother with the water system so freezing lines isnt a problem.

Prior to getting the 2499, mom and I traveled for 5 years with a 1987 T-1660. I had recovered the cushions, made new curtains, put aluminum wheels on it, put a spare tire on the bumper. It was a wonderful little trailer. We sure were all over the US with it. Sold it when the 2499 was ready for pickup. I had the 1660 weighed when mom and I were heading out for a 3 week trip, tipped the scales at 2670 lbs. Was a great little trailer, but we needed a bit more room, we travel with 2 weiner dogs and a rescued greyhound.

Just breaking it in....

Mack and I took our new T276 out this weekend for it's maiden road trip. Set up camp in a local KOA beside my brother's beast (Cabin Creek 38' 5th wheeler that has a Volvo Diesel tractor for the TV). Everything went really good and we both agreed we were very impressed with the camper at the end of the weekend and agreed we could not have picked out a better model for our needs. Not sure where we will head out this coming weekend but we have plans for Lancaster, PA in mid-November and then a trip in the works for Asseteage Island, MD. We want to get a few trips under our belt before putting the "baby" away for the winter.

My brother told Mack about blowing out the lines with an air compressor and then dumping some antifreeze in the traps for storage until we were ready to winterize. Of course, Mack ran right out last night to buy a new toy since it was justified....

One major issue we found after we brought it home last night was that one of the screws of the sub-flooring was coming through the linoleum floor at the bathroom doorway. Mack noticed a squeak in the floor by the door and we also had our one shade for the top bunk looking like it had dry rotted a bit. A few other items came up but were also very minor.I have a call into my service rep now. Figured that when they do the other work we found during our walk through they can take a look at this as well.

Over all, very impressed with the unit.

One big advantage of living in South Mississippi, we can RV all year long. We go out one or two weekends every month.
Of course, we do occasionally have those natural phenomenon called hurricanes. But you can see those coming for days, so if you don't live right on the beach, you're usually okay.
Most of the places we stay have electricity, but no water. Because of that, we had a second fresh water tank built into our unit when we ordered it. 80 gallons should last for the weekend, we hope.
Once we both retire, we'll plan more trips.
We did go out to the Grand Canyon this July in our Gulfstream Nightmare. We enjoyed the trip despite all the flaws in the trailer.
I'm looking forward to an extended trip with the Sunline.

We ordered our 2499 this past spring and when Wade, the salesman at General RV in Michigan tried to talk me into buying the Winter Insualtion Kit, I laughed and said "I dont plan on camping in the Winter!"

Well a few weekends back I was eating my words while sleeping in 28 degree weather while covering the Iceman Mountain Bike Race in Northern Michigan which is the first week of November every year

Come the first few weeks of January, we're gone and gonna try and follow the warmer 60 to 70 degree temps!! I cant wait
