I bought this and I think it's a 1983 m1550 based on photos I've seen and the length. The entire interior was remodelled before I bought it and I can't find a VIN anywhere to verify this though. There's nothing stamped on the hitch frame by the tanks and I don't even see a sill plate at the door anymore. Can anyone help me figure this out? There is a seven digit number on a plate next to the door, but it doesn't say VIN or SN. I'm wondering if it's older than 1980 and doesn't have a VIN.

Have you looked in the master catalog to match your camper? Some models were custom built, and this one looks very similar to my '84.

It's a 1983 T-1550, nothing special. The number you found next to the door is the RVIA standards certification, it has nothing to do with a specific model or year of the trailer.

Your VIN is on a plate riveted to the left side of the tongue, roughly under the propane tank like you said- do you see any evidence of holes about 4" apart around that area? It's also located under the entry door sill plate, which you have to remove screws on that and lift the sill to see- if the sill was removed to replace flooring, the VIN plate could have been unscrewed and lost. Lastly it was on a sticker on the left front sidewall of the trailer, but those stickers are usually long gone at this point.
