A little more info about me. Hopefully this link will describe my other interest, Cowboy Action Sport Shooting. Now, "IF" I only had enuff $$ to travel to NM to shoot at End of Trail. I don't do the mounted shooting (horses are really expensive to have). I walk and pull a gun cart with my stuff on it. MY stuff includes a 357 lever action rifle, a 16 guage shotgun, and (2) 357 cal Ruger Beasley single action revolvers and ammo for the days events. As mentioned in the video, you need to have a shooting "Alias" and that is where KanyonKitty comes from. http://myoutdoortv.com/pdk/web/rl-popupplayer6.html?feedPID=zUOBnPHNMKqJnGFmYhkA_n4UZuXfCyuL

Hey Kitty, when is that event in NM? We are in NM right now and that would be really fun to go watch.

I met a few guys back in Michigan who were into this big time and talked about it with them for hours. Man does it sound fun!

Pat,

End of Trail (EOT) is usually held the end of June or beginning of July. Founders Ranch is on the east side of Albuquerqe. I saw signs for it when I was headed west on RT 40 this summer.

Maybe you can catch it next year.

Kitty, I came close to doing CAS... guns, leather, reloader, etc., but the the guys that I was going to participate with backed out on me. I ended up joining & competing with the N-SSA. You're not too far from Winchester, VA and the N-SSA's Fort Shenandoah. Have you ever been there?? Here is a link to an older video...not as nice as the ones at the CAS site, but it'll give you a flavor of the competition.

I was planning on taking my Sunny to the Nationals next spring, but it doesn't look like that will become a reality...will have to motel it I guess.

Kitty,

That's great! I as well do action shooting, but "modern".... USPSA is more to my taste. I shoot mainly revolver (SW 625 w/ moonclips (hence "Mooney")) and Limited (Glock 22 w/ a few mods.). Revolver is more to my taste though- Wheel guns are real guns!

CAS seems cool- I just don't have the time to get into it as much as I would want to.

Good stuff! If you ever get up this way, there's a couple good sized ranges around here that host matches.

I beg to differ, I bet I can unload my Glock 19 with better accuracy and faster than you can unload that wheel gun of yours

Not that wheel guns arent fun, but I can double tap all day long with quite a bit of accuracy. I have the competition trigger, its ported and was built for the IPSA, but then I backed out as the partner I was supposed to go with couldnt afford it.

**Thread hijack alert!!!**

I got me a piece of combat Tupperware too...it's my second favorite gun

That's the beauty of modern day pistol games though, there's something for everyone. I can shoot 5 divisions in USPSA with 2 guns (then the others would feel lonely, I guess)- and IDPA with a few others. I am unsure which match you are referring to though, (IPSA)- but a ported G19 would be legal in USPSA? IPSC in Open division only- and I don't think that's a fair fight :p

Hmmm, a meet and greet plus day at the range? Bring what ya got and everyone can shoot that wants to! New shooters welcome (as always) and we can teach others about our hobbies? Interesting thought....

BTW- Kitty, if you did do the mounted competitions, you'd need a strong from for the horse trailer to be pulled in tandem behind the Sunny!
