What did you do to the Sunline today?

We finished the deep cleaning the other day. Just put the last of the of the curtains back in place.

Now to go camping.

There was lots of goo sticking out of the camp-side bumper. I know that the silicone will extend beyond the edges of it, but it looked really bad and had lots of sun damage. So now that I've removed the bumper, and cleaned up the silicone from the black plastic and the camper sides I'm ready to reinstall. Do you have favorite silicone sealer for this job?

Not so sure of what "bumper" your talking about. Pictures?

We replaced the flooring with sticky tiles and I am now finished cleaning and putting back curtains. I am taking a break from running back and forth, loading our stuff back for the trip to GA this weekend. We will be setting up a camp for the coming hunging seasons on property that we have leased. I am excited to get on the road and get set up. I have taken a lot of pics and just loaded all to my album.

Finally fully winterized today by putting anti-freeze in all traps, faucet heads, and the toilet. I also pulled out the winterizing hose from the water pump, turned the valve, sucked a little antifreeze through, then shut it off. The winterizing kit sure is nice!

Just need to pull the battery out now and put it on the Deltran tender, and then it'll be all set.

Cleaned her out!

Took many years of memories out of our Sunline today, along with all our camping gear, she will be going to a new owner (hopefully soon), as we are trading her in on a 2013 Rubicon 2900 Toy Hauler!

We will be bringing her to Ballantyne RV Sales, Rochester, NY on Monday 9/24...which I'm sure is going to be a bitter/sweet day for us!

We have made so many wonderful friends on the SOC forum....this is the BESTEST forum for info and if it is travel trailer related I'm sure I'll get my answers here!

Oh and we set the date for the Adirondack Meet & Greet for September 20-21, 2013....we'll be there even if we'll be an SOB!

Jon, is there someplace I can get info on what exactly to do for winterization of systems? We pulled all the cushions, opened everything up. cleaned everywhere we could, and tarped the trailer tonight after work. I think I can figure out draining the water tank, but all this other stuff you mention I'm a bit fuzzy on. Isn't there someway to blow out the water system? I have to drain the hot water tank too don't I?

Any help for the newbie here greatly appreciated!

Winterizing all ready? Some of the best camping season is just ahead. Fall colors, falling leaves. Riding bike trails without getting to hot. Sitting around camp fire roasting your front a freezing your rear, best time of year.

I agree, but there's a whole lot of factors why I winterized now. We don't stop camping until usually the last weekend in October, but not with the Sunline. So I winterize it now so a cold night here and there won't do any damage to the fixtures/plumbing. Sadly, I don't use my trailer much more than one weekend a year now, but hopefully that will change in the next few years.

Sprayed insecticide around parts that touch ground. In Florida we gets insects, ants and other crawlies, that will climb jacks, wheels or anything else that touches the ground like tire covers. Bug spray will limit the invasion. I also spray around outside openings like the heater, fridge (top and bottom) and water heater. This ritual is done when camping as well.

With re: our T-1350...

Today I was checking the air in our tires (TT and TV), and found about a 10 psi difference between the tires on the TT. Driver's side was about 45 and the passenger's side was 35. The tires had the same numbers (175/80-13). Unfortunately, one was a 6-ply bias, and the other a radial. Found the most economical way I could go on short notice was to get another 6-ply, pre-mounted. If I could have found a tire to swap out on the rim, it would cost at least the same.

Funny the TT didn't act squirrely or anything as I would have expected. Lucky, I guess. Still, I didn't want to take any chances with two very different tires.

While we were at a conference in Chicago, our Sunline was at the local RV service & repair shop where it was having the spare tire that the PO gave us put on a rim and mounted on the back bumper. We also are buying two spare tire covers with the Sunline logo on them from "Poppy and Nana." And, we ordered a Progressive Dynamics 4045 Power Center (with "Charge Wizard") to replace our dead converter. We had ordered a PD 4600 converter but it wouldn't fit in the converter space without some fairly significant mods to the housing so Matthew will put in the PD4045 Power Center and the local shop will frame it in for us. Even camping for two overnights, we have been developing a Sunline "wishlist" on Amazon. It remains to be seen if we have the restraint not to buy everything on it right now or wait and give it instead to various family members who insist on buying Christmas presents.

Today I made sure all of the gas appliances were good to go in our T-1350. I had already leak tested everything, but hadn't actually tried any of them before.

The water heater was the closest to the bottle, so I lit its pilot first and made sure the main burner would come on. I didn't let it run but a few seconds without water - really just long enough to hear the burner light off. The stove was the next. It took a few minutes to purge the air from the lines and get the it lit, but it lit nicely once it got there. Beautiful blue flames. I thought it was going to take forever, though! <G>

The furnace was last on the list. At first, I wasn't sure how I was going to tell if the pilot actually lit. I wound up just feeling the heat exchanger. When I first felt the heat, I kept the button pushed in for 15 seconds or so before going for the main burner. It did very well.

After I finished with the burn tests, I leak checked all connections again - both soap and sniff tests. I think we're good to go for the cooler and unpredictable weather that's upon us here in the panhandle. It's not unheard of for us to get a taste of all seasons in one 24-hour period: Summer hot, Spring & Fall rain & hail, Winter cold/sleet/snow, with a 50 degree swing in temps. I've seen it before. It's supposed to get in the low 30's in some places here this weekend, and we're going to shoot for Palo Duro Canyon again Saturday/Sunday.

We have a 10" wall clock coming in a "Route 66" theme. We are going to work towards a vintage Route 66 motif for our Sunny. We ordered some fabric so we can start making curtains and cushions in the same theme.

Spent most of the morning KILLING WASPS that had taken up residency. My wife and I just bought this TT about a week ago and are going to spend the off season fixing everything that the PO had neglected. But for a 1984 it's not in bad shape at all, not to mention the price was right $500.00 It's a T-2130.
