What did you do to the Sunline today?

There's a similar thread in an Excursion forum I participate in where people post what they've done to their Excursions that day, from filling it up or washing it to doing major jobs. After working on the Sunline today, I thought, we should have a thread like that here!

BENEFITS:

What I did today (sorry, no pics):
- Lubed all of my wet bolts for the leaf springs
- Tore apart the tongue jack motor, cleaned/lubed everything, reassembled. It was quite rusty and gummed up (I took it off my last trailer), causing it to really strain when picking up even just the trailer. It works much smoother now.
- Put new tape on a picture and dixie cup holder that both fell off the wall
- Loaded it up to get ready to go tomorrow!

This morning I turned on the LP, filled lines to stove and lit burners. Opened gas line to fridge to bleed air and closed when smelling gas. Turned fridge power on and heard the click from the igniter firing. Waited a little while for the clicking to stop and the burner to kick in. Damn! What now? No fire. Peeked back inside and yes, I had the knob turned to 'gas', had temp set to 'high' and then I saw it. That other button to push when igniting. Mashed it in and in four seconds the clicking stopped, the fire started and fridge is now cold. Victory!

Now on to the water heater.

Dinette mods

We have made our Dinette Table removable so we can play cards with friends who don't like to set at the confining space at the dinette.
We ordered the legs from our RV dealer. The legs are the ones that would go in a pop-up camper. After installing the legs, we raised up the seats by 1 1/2 inches, remounted the flip up drawer covers to their new height. Moved the keepers that hold the table against the wall to their new height.
Table can still be used to convert dinette to a bed.

We have also put an electric jack on the front.

Replaced the vent covers for the black and grey water tanks with ones that follow the wind.

Finished putting in the 2 gallon tank for the water, WOW, no leaks.
Ran pump, let it set for 3 hours, no loss of pressure.
Sat and looked at it for ten minutes wondering how I went from tent camping to Motorcycle camping to Motorcycle popup camping (timeout camper for the motorcycle) to a Sunline camper.

Finished packing the clothes that go into the Sunline; started to pack the dry foods for Memorial Day w/e; re-arranged some of the "stuff" in the closets; assembled a Diaper Genie; Leo does not like TP in the tank - thought this might work ~ we'll see come MD W/E; TRIED to get the TV to work, which did not - going to CW on Sunday - may have to invest in the antenna modification and hopefully I'll get some reception.

An antenna mod really surprises me . . ours gets quite awesome reception. Are you using a tv that is Digital ready? Or a digital adaptor?

Every now and then the control board on the roof unit goes on the fritz and you get nothing. I had one go out on me once. After tearing the camper apart trouble shooting it, it turned out to be the roof unit

Diane - it is digital ready.....and I mean I get NOTHING!!!!! But given where we live and remembering why we pay for cable - that may be part of the issue.....we are going camping MD w/e and my friends get reception there all the time...I'll have to check it out there. But the trip to CW on Sunday should be or should I re-phrase and say will be an expensive trip!

Glady CW isn't very close for us, because it always seems to be an expensive trip for us!

CW is about an 1 1/2 hr trip so thankfully we don't get there often...but then again the darn internet sales ad are always popping up and how can you not take advantage of free shipping????:-D

When I need something and the only place its available is Camping World I go on line to order it. CW is over an hour away.

Make sure the switch is on if it is disconnect the connection on the roof check it with a volt meter between the little center wire and the outside connection if it has 12 volts replace the head common problem the replacement should come with the little extra "wingman".

I guess it is some thing I did to the camper because I made a bracket that now is part of the tire mount. It a fiberglass tower with my ham radio antenna on top up about 25' (yes there are guy lines they are just hard to see) It should draw a lot of spectators at the camp grounds. If there are any ham campers out there it is a 10,12,15 meter home brew rotatable dipole. It takes me about 20-30 mins to put it up.

Well we finally got around to working on Sunny yesterday.

Unfortunately, due to mdfiregal's injury ending our season abruptly, I did not get to do as thorough a job winterizing as I would normally do....

First issue, battery died. $110 for a new Series 31 deep cycle.

Then discovered a chirping propane detector with a fault light:???: Had power, but it wouldn't reset so I did what my IT technician wife tells me to do with any uncooperative electronics......KILL IT's POWER!!!:-x Pulled the fuse for about an hour and amazingly it's working fine now, fault cleared, tested OK.

Once the power was restored, I hooked up H2O and flushed out the system. Checked H2O heater works fine both electric and gas. Then I discovered a leaking kitchen sprayer. Guess I didn't get enough antifreeze into the faucet as it has a crack in it. Next, found a broken toilet flush valve. I think this might be a wear and tear issue vs. winterizing. There is a little mushroom looking piece in the valve that the stem cracked on.

Then, into some serious interior cleaning.

So once I get the parts to fix to kitchen sink and toilet the interior is ready to go.

We then turned to cleaning the outside, got the bow (front) and starboard (door side) side cleaned before it started to rain. Awesome Orange cleaner and magic eraser sponges made fairly quick work of cleaning the aluminum.

Headed to Wilderness Presidential Resort for Memorial Day Weekend!!

BTW, mdfiregal was able to get in and out without too much trouble. May hold off on the step issue for a while.

Got tired of looking at circuit breakers and fuses not knowing what they were for. Now have them labeled. Will probably know what I missed the next time something quits working and I can't find the power for it. Atleast the breakers are marked with text large enuff I can read it now.

We have to do the same thing as you did Jim-Bev-2363. Knowing when a breaker tripps is one thing but knowing what breaker/fuse to pull when you want to work on a circuit is easier when everything is labeled.

Installed a solar powered vent tube fan. Supposedly there is enough juice left over to run it all night. We shall see.

I would like to raise the breakers and fuses high enuff that I don't have to lay in the floor to see them. Old eyes suck. :-x
