water leak in bathroom

Our 2nd time out with the 2- month old T-276sr noticed water leaking under the tub onto the floor.Removed the access pannel found that someone at the factory did a quick fix on one of the threaded male fittings for the outside shower using teflon tape and silicon.This fitting had a slit thru it so no matter how tight you made the connection coupling hose it squirted water.Thankfully there is a cut out in the floor for the tub drain which is where most of the water has been going to the ground.Took about a hour for me to fix.Been told to always turn off your water when leaving the camper for extended hours.

We had a leak in the cold water line under the bathroom sink on our T-2475. We took it back to our dealer and he couldn't duplicate the problem. That led us to conclude it was a water pressure issue. We put a regulator on the water inlet line and adjusted it until the leak disappeared.
Water pressures vary from campground to campground, so it's not a bad idea to put a regulator on your inlet line anyway. In this case, we did it out of necessity, but don't have to worry about city water pressure blowing out my water service.

A) I always use a brass Marshall (?) water pressure regulator on the end of my hose where I connect to "their" water faucet, and I try to remember to ALWAYS turn off the water when I leave for extended periods of time.

"A" is done in that order so if there is a pressure problem I hopefully won't even blow a hose

"B" is done so that "IF" any of my lines develop a leak it would be while I'm home, not coming home to a flooded Sunny.

I'm blonde and single but trying like heck to make sure I do things correctly. Geesh sometimes I really get fustrated

Yes flip off that water pump switch when you leave. Always! I learned the hard way.

Here is how it happened:

The pump builds pressure and then shuts off. This is normal.

BUT, when you are close to being low on water in the fresh tank,
You are away from the camper,
The pump kicks in to just top off the pressure as it was on the edge of almost turning on,
And the pump sucks an air bubble from the tank being low as it is sucking air above the water line in the tank….

Well the pump won’t prime and will just plain run for ever. Since it is not building pressure, sucking air, it will eventually dry lock it self. The normal surging stops banging and you can barely hear the motor running. Until you return several hours later and smell that horrible electrical insulation smell when the pump almost burnt up when you walk in the camper … The mind went racing and Thank the good Lord it did not catch fire.

Well ever since, we flip the switch OFF, when we go out the door. Now is habit.
