Update on kitty

Our prayers are with you...for good platelets and a bruised rib!

OK, here's todays update:

All the prayers & well wishes worked, my platelets were good and I was able to have my liquid chemo treatment today. When my doc came in he sat down and gave me the CAT Scan results. Here's what he told me: Radiologist told him he thinks my tumors look larger than last CAT Scan, My Doc looked at the scans and told me he didn't see that they looked any larger, but not any smaller either, so they are now going to be looked at by a pathologist. I had no broken/cracked ribs from my fall 5 weeks ago. So, more tests ordered. Plus he gave me a prescription for Oxycodone HCL 5MG. Take 1/2 to 1 tablet every 3 hours as needed for the pain under my right ribs. Hopefully I will be able to get a good nights' sleep.

He also said/explained that it is not uncommon for the human body to sorta build up a resistence to these drugs, so in three weeks when it's time for my next treatment, I WILL be getting new chemo drugs.

As for my SS Disability, told him that claim worker advised me to NOT be surprised if it was denied, as most claims are on first attempt. Doc says mine should not be denied because my illness is VERY well documented, but to let him know "if" it is.

OK, been up since 5:30 am, so now off to bed, just took 1/2 a pain pill, hope to get some sleep tonight. Sore side has made sleeping tuff.

Keep the well wishes & prayers coming, they are working,

Kitty

Thanks for the update Kitty.

Glad you were able to have the chemo treatment but sad to hear that more are in line.....

If you are denied SSDI - call the doctor right away.....don't waste anytime trying to do the "fix" yourself!!!!!

Hope all goes well and those pesky little platelets behave for the next treatment!

Yes, thanks for the update, Kitty. Does this mean you guys are clear for vacation now, or will you have another appointment before you leave?

Kitty,

We are sending lots of prayers to you. Hope that the pathology reports come back fine and that the new chemo drugs work their magic.

Had my chemo yesterday, headed home about 4, pm made me pretty sick, had only been in car about 5 minutes and had to make a pit stop , then was OK the rest of the way home. Fell asleep about 5pm, woke up at 4am and have been awake since then, but feel much better.

Kitty

Hope you continue to tolerate this chemo.....all counts good????? When do you go back to JH????

Many, many prayers and hugs. You certainly are a trooper, Kitty. A harder job than this one doesn't exist.

Kitty,

Glad the new chemo has made you feel better. Sending lots of hugs and healing thoughts to you.
