T2590 couch

We are currently looking very seriously at a 1994 Sunline Solaris T2590. To this point we have only seen pictures of it. It is somewhat important to us that our childs sleeping area becomes invisible by day. The 2590 says that it has the "convertabed". Is this the jack knife type of bed or is this the type you can make up and then fold it away when not being used. It would then return to couch status.

would venture to say that "if" it indeed does have the convertabed, it is the sofa, sometimes referred to as a jack-knife sofa. The sofa is hinged to unfold to create the sleeping area. With this floor plan you also get a swivel rocker and table that can be slid closer to the table or chair.

If it has the fixed dinette bench inside to the right of the door, the front seating area is "lounge" type. You can put the table down, pull out the bottom platform from under the seat cushion, slide the cushion forward and drop the back cushion down to make a another sleeping area.

The picture of the "convertabad" in the 1994 brochure appears to be a "jack-knife" type as the bottom cushion is all one piece.

On our fold out queen sofa bed (it was an optional replacement for the jack knife type we ordered) there are three seperate cushions on the bottom. Granted ours is a 2007, but I would be willing to bet it's a jackknife.

Actually, it probably could have been ordered with a partial dinette instead of the chair. Like the option in the 2363, it would be a few cushions that would pull out to meet up with the table that would be put down. But yours isn't that, it's the jacknife.

So basically what you do is fold the table down, then pick up on the front edge of the bottom cushion. Pick it up a little ways, and then pull out toward you. Then push down. It'll lay down into a bed form. Then you can put something cushion wise on top if you wish and then make it with sheets/sleeping bag. Just do the reverse to put it away for the day, but you will have to store all the sheets and stuff away.

Newer Sunlines did have the optional hide-a-bed, but they are rare and only available in slide room trailers. That type of bed is so big that it wouldn't really have any room to pull out in a non-slide trailer.

That is true, we have less than 12" clearance on the end of the bed.

Yep, been there, done that, many times, and have a dresser full of tee-shirts to prove it!!!

Ha! Ha! No video available. I'm also out of practice, we haven't used the bed since Carol's mom passed over 3 years ago. Even at 12 & 13 the kids still love thier bunks!!!
