OK I've searched the site and can't find the post.....I know a few people modified the overhead light switch to a wall switch.....I think there where to versions, in fished thru the wall and the other on the outside of the wall....I'm looking for the one fished thru the wall.....can anyone help me? I can't remember how long ago it was posted or who posted it.....Leo and I have our TT out of storage, very early for us this year, and have been "puttering around" doing a little of this and that....I'd like to add this to my "Honey do" list!!!!

Thanks for your help everyone!!!

Kathy,

I don't think I ever posted it, but here's how I did ours.

We have a cabinet at the bedroom "door" opening, so I used that to my advantage. The switch is mounted on the wall that is the side of the cabinet:

Then inside the cabinet I used a piece of wiremold to hide the wire as it ran up into the ceiling:

Hope this helps.

Frank....the one I was thinking about was routed thru the ceiling...down the inside of the wall...but thanks for the info you supplied...that won't work for our 2499.

I do not recall a post on this. Must of missed that one. BUT I'm interested too. I have a bathroom light on the T310 that has the switch in the wrong place and it has the same issues thru the ceiling as the T2499 would.

Hope someone will pop in who did the ceiling route.

In your T2499, the switch could go on the shower wall in the bed room. By removing the access panel to the shower faucet by the end of the bed will give good access to the inside of the wall. Now how to make the jump from the wall to the ceiling?

Maybe, you go out in the peg board cabinet storage hole. The cargo hole goes all the way to the ceiling. Way up top you drill about a ¼” hole in the ceiling pointing toward the light fixture. Take light fixture down, there is about a 1” hole with wires hanging out. Then take a piece of stiff fence wire, about 1/16” thick like a coat hanger but longer, and fish from the peg board area, thru the rafters and pop out the hole where the light wires hang out. If you can fish that pull wire there your home free.

Then attach your wires to that fish wire and pull them to the peg board area. Then down wall in the peg board area past the water pump and into the area behind the shower faucets and up to your new switch.

I’m doing this all from memory and may be off a little as our T2499 is no longer and now sleeping at it’s new home. I’ll get a visit come the Spring M & G in Hillsdale.

Good luck and take pics if you are ever able to pull this off.

Thanks

John

PS. If you do not get it by the Sept rally, Leo and I can look at it then. We are camped about on the oppsite side of the tree line from you.

Thanks John, I printed this off and gave it to Leo....his Honey Do list just keeps getting longer between the house and the TT....we may just be doing a mod at the September M&G LOL!!!!!

Kitty has already arranged for us to do one at Buttonwood....if you want to call it a mod!!!! Time will tell.
