Well, thank goodness my health worked in my favor. We were able to leave WV yesterday around 12:30pm and head south for Pigeon Forge, TN., our campground that we stay at is 423 miles away. We (Gary) drove a bit more than half way, and then we got a site for the night, then finished the drive this morning. We arrived at the campground around 12:30pm. We booked a back in site so we have the river view out our rear living room.
We will have to head home next saturday, once again splitting the trip into two days. We went and picked up a few groceries as we (I) didn't feel quite up to doing it by myself.
It's so nice to be out camping in Sunny with Gary. This is our belated honeymoon.
The rest of the week we plan to cruise thru a couple of auto nature drives and Smokey Mountains National Park' and relax/chill in Sunny.
There are tons of tourist traps to empty your wallet, but we don't bother with them. The only one we have decided to do is the Ripleys Aquarium. That should be very nice. I was in the one in Baltimore, MD many many many years ago when we used to take kids on educational trips and it was nice, so I am sure this many years later things are much improved.
Guess that's about it for now,
