Well, thank goodness my health worked in my favor. We were able to leave WV yesterday around 12:30pm and head south for Pigeon Forge, TN., our campground that we stay at is 423 miles away. We (Gary) drove a bit more than half way, and then we got a site for the night, then finished the drive this morning. We arrived at the campground around 12:30pm. We booked a back in site so we have the river view out our rear living room.

We will have to head home next saturday, once again splitting the trip into two days. We went and picked up a few groceries as we (I) didn't feel quite up to doing it by myself.

It's so nice to be out camping in Sunny with Gary. This is our belated honeymoon.

The rest of the week we plan to cruise thru a couple of auto nature drives and Smokey Mountains National Park' and relax/chill in Sunny.

There are tons of tourist traps to empty your wallet, but we don't bother with them. The only one we have decided to do is the Ripleys Aquarium. That should be very nice. I was in the one in Baltimore, MD many many many years ago when we used to take kids on educational trips and it was nice, so I am sure this many years later things are much improved.

Guess that's about it for now,

Kitty & Gary

Glad to hear you two are back on the road! Which CG are you staying in?
Rich

We are staying at Riverside RV park and resort, in Sevierville, TN.

As of Tuesday, we don't have any nearby neighbors.. Been really quiet!!

As far as pictures..... We've taken tons! They will have to wait till we're home though.. We don't have the computer power here, to be uploading/posting all those pics!

That place looks very nice! Have a great time and if you haven't already, take a drive around Cade's cove, really beautiful there.

We did Cade's cove on Tuesday and the Roaring Fork motor trail on Wednesday.. Yesterday, we did a trip up to Clingman's dome... The tallest point in Tennessee.. 6,634 feet up!

After that, we drove to Cherokee, NC and then to the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad... We spent the whole day riding around and sight seeing.. We even found a Sunline in Maggie Valley, NC! It was a 1980's 1550. We ended up putting over 400 miles on our rental car! It had to go back this morning :(

I guess no one will say you two let any grass grow under your feet!
Good to hear your making the most of it,
Rich

Been there done that, twice! The last 1/2 mile and 1,000 feet on foot is a real bear, and both times we found out where the "Smokey" comes from!! Couldn't see more than about 20'!!! Perfectly clear in the parking area and the top of the dome was stuck in a cloud.:roll:

and then to the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad

We did the trip from Dillsboro to Bryson City behind a Steam Locomotive. What a great ride along the Nantahala River!!

Sounds like you're having a great trip!!!
