Sunline T-2653 Manual help

Hello! New owners of a 1999 or 2000 Sunline T-2653 here. starting to rebuild and refurb and after searching the web, this is the highest chance that some kind soul may have any tech documents. Thanks so much any help is much appreciated!

I have downloaded anything close I found here so far...

Sunline never published much on these trailers, so if you're looking for blueprints or specific wiring diagrams, you'll be out of luck. The original owner's manual covered basic operation, warranty, and then had the individual appliance manuals that were mostly about installation and general maintenance. Sometimes those had some light troubleshooting tips.

The closest thing to trailer specific in the manual was the model item locator sheet, which would tell you where storage doors were, where the low point drains were, where the water heater was located, etc. Mostly stuff that an experienced RVer could probably find within 10 minutes with the trailer, but it was designed to help out new people.

That being said, there are a few construction related drawings/diagrams in the files section, unrelated to the 2653. Those we were lucky enough to get over the years but they are rare. Sunline rarely would give out detailed drawings for fear of their floorplans being copied by other manufacturers. The floorplans and details I believe were actually covered legally as an asset and used to borrow capital against.

What type of tech info do you need, or better, tell us what is is you are rebuilding or refurbing so we can help better.

We have many folks who have repaired water damage, along with pictures of their work and willingness to share if they see your post. And many who have upgraded their camper.

Not sure what you are up against in your repair, but giving a friendly heads up, these campers are not built like a house. And the methods to repair/rebuild/ refurbish can take a different approach. We can explain and show you some tips to consider “before” tearing into it to have less work and a better repair later if you knew going in how they where made. Some folks just tear into pulling the camper apart from the inside to later find they have more work to do as there was alternate ways of repairing that did not require tearing down the wall board.

Give us some details and we can see if we can help better. Posting pics of what you are up against helps greatly give better help as we see what you have.

Thanks for chiming in folks!

For starters- the floor in the middle of the rig is "spongy", so replacing the flooring is on the list. So far no sign of frame rot or issues there.

Appliances nearly all need service or replacement, I have no real documentation on Stove, Refrigerator, Hot Water Heater, A/C (non functioning) - Heater unit and controller, house battery, lighting. The built in Stereo/ TV refuses to work. Gas lines look suspect, likely need replacement. Water lines look to be early PEX flexible type, also suspect.

A shore power protection/ surge unit and water pressure regulator along with filtration made my short list.

I guess any tech documentation would be helpful in case it pertains to any of the above.

Hi Erock,

On servicing the appliances, at the top of the forum are tabs, look for the word, FILES. Click it. In there are sections that should have owners manuals and some service manuals for all of your vintage appliances.

Are you comfortable and have worked on 12 volt DC and 120 volt AC electrical? We have several here in the forum who have been through the appliances and some have done total rebuild and servicing. We can help with the tech what to look for, but it is hard to teach electrical safety if you have not been through this before. And we do not want you to get hurt. Let us know your comfort level with electrical and we can get into it in more detail oh you need help.

The soft floor, some thoughts to think through on this. Were did the water source or sources come from to create the water damage? When I go about these kind of repairs, I try to back in what went wrong before taking anything apart or totally apart. The key is to learn all you can before tearing into it. You for sure want to fix the water source so it will not damage all your good hard work.

If you can post some pics of the affected area with some descriptions we may be able to suggest some sources of water that caused the damage. Then you go and investigate. There are many ways a soft floor can happen in a camper.

This is also something to think about doing. Before you start into taking the camper apart, consider getting a moisture meter and scan the floor, walls, ceiling, the bottom plastic waterproofing material under the camper. While you can only see or feel the soft floor, water damage is very hard to see until it gets real bad and Rita through. Campers do not leak like a house. Water trapped in a wall or ceiling can be ongoing for many years before it shows up inside the lI if space. By scanning the camper you then know how much more water is really in the camper before you take it apart. And it can help guide you where the floor is wet and then becomes dry to help figure out the water infection source or sources.
