Sunline T-1550 owners

Hello all. Just curious. How many T-1550 owners are here and what modifications have you made to your sunny. Please post pics if you can.

Hi John. I have a 1550. I am going to remodel. I don't know anything about these trailers. I want to put a one piece roof. I am not one for roof gunk once a year. I don't know why people don't take care of the roof leaking once and for all. I may use a sheet of pond liner from home depot. I read the stats and the stuff appears to be excellent. I'm told the roof ac does not work. I'm thinking of tossing it and putting just a crank vent in it's place. I am going to do the entire inside with luan birch or pine. I am going to do the bedroom area with cedar. A new pergo floor. I might paint the cabinets an antique red. I will shellac all the new wood ceiling and sidewalls.

I am going to do the outside of the Saturn. I may steel wool the color off if the aluminum looks good underneath. Or, I may paint the exterior some color. I am not a big fan of the brown motif. I will paint and put more lights on the body. Gravel plate in front. I have to sleep with a cpap machine. That's my only problem. Where I will go, there is no electricity. So I am not sure about a powerpack with solar? I will have to see. I will be camping on the family farm. It has a river running through for fishing. the generator idea just seems to harsh. The noise, expense of the unit, the fuelling it and breakdowns, etc. Any ideas for cpap users?

Hi Anthony. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you. Fortunately my 1550 didn't need a lot of work. Good luck with your restoration. Keep us updated.

1983 t-1550





I repaired the toilet valve, added curtains and very little else.

The previous owner removed the range and shower pan. I have these items and may or may not install.

I also have a roof AC unit that I may or may not install. So far I haven't camped anyplace or time of year to warrant the AC. The T-1550 really has very good ventilation.

Hi bunjin. My trailer looks like yours. How do they measure trailer? Rear to tongue? The coach part is 13 foot. It must be with toungue for the 15 feet. I am going to take my a/c out as it does not work. I will camp when it's cool. I might buy the new ARK-PAK inverter, solar charger for my cpap machine use.

We have a 1985 T-1550. We restored ours as close to original as we could get it.

I am doing my entire decorating, cushions, curtains, etc. with Burlap. I bought a large box of Burlap. I think the trailer interior is going to look good with that. In the sleep area I will apply the smelly cedar to the walls. No insects and the smell will be great. I want all wood on walls. Wood is soothing to the soul. Interiors should look like an old cabin. The birch or pine. Then a coat of shellac. Anyone agree???

I think the cedar and burlap would look great. I have not done anything to the interior other than replacing the refrigerator with an electric one.

Hi John. My fridge doesn't work in electric mode. Previous owner says it works, so the gas option hopefully works. But the good thing is you can replace with a new small electric. Mine did not come with a stove, so I will buy a nice toaster oven. That's all you need. I think keeping it simple is the way to go. You grill outside anyway.

I can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit. I have some minor repairs to take care of before this years camping season. Does your 1550 have electric or surge type brakes? I have the surge system. Not sure why. All the other 1550's that I have seen have electric.

I don't know what it has. I bought last April. I did not know it even had breaks. It has the round barrel plug in.

Yes. Rear bumper to center of ball hitch. The length of any given model seems to vary some per the Sunline specs. year to year. See under files tab at top of page and then brochure tab for info on Sunline trailers.

Thank You John, I did not know there was brochures. just learning how to Navigate the site. Quite the following with sunline trailers. I decided I will keep close to original as I can. That bulging cabinet that sticks out over the bed concerns me. Is that a problem hitting your feet?
