Well Folks,

I tried to get it, but it went for, I sure hope your sitting down............$82.87. Can you believe that, so with shipping it cost $94.87. That is amazing, but that's OK, this ole Kat isn't done YET. I've got a wood Sunline model to build Need to do a little re-arranging of some stuff on it, and check into some doll house lighting, and I could end up with something really unique. Hum, might try to make a working awning on it Not sure how soon I'll get this project done, but I will eventually. And I will post pics.

Now about the cost. Cost is a relative thing depending on ones point of view. I don’t know exactly what you are up too, but I’m sure it will keep you occupied with many hours of activity which is a piece of mind and worth it.

H’mm now about the unlimited funds comment. That is a relative term as well.

Several years ago my camping gear consisted of a 2 man Eureka Mountain Pass tent, a thermo rest mattress, A Gregory back pack, a down sleeping bag, a cup, spoon, pocket knife, Nalgen water bottle, compass and a short handled tooth brush. Cost ~ $700 to 800. I stoped counting but it was in that area. Weighed less than 30#. Would go camping in the back country 2 weeks at a time and be loving it. Had all I needed.

Then DW and I started camping in my sons 30 year old rebuilt Starcraft PU. Cost, ~ $330 in pressure treated plywood and a ton of time. Went camping that fall and loved it. Well soon our RV life was born.

We looked at all the other campers with AC, slides, big TT, 5 ers, dual axle MH’s and said WOW. That’s not camping, why would you need all that….

Then went to a RV show an came home with our own new show model PU and AC. WOW,!! Well that really nasty day in August when the sweat would not stop running off your head, the AC was nice!! We took a step up and we where really loving it. Cost, well a lot more than the $330 of plywood to fix the sons PU.

Then still we saw the TT’s and 5 er’s and said how can you use that much space in a camper? Well after enough days of wet canvas and crawling over the top of each other trying to get past the kitchen sink, soon the TT itch started. After a long search mission, The T2499 was home with us.

Now we pull 6,500# behind us including the kitchen sink and still loving it. Cost. Well a far cry from the $800 I had in my Eureka Tent. Suppose other tent’ers like I use to be could say I have unlimited funds, which I don’t, But enjoy every minute of it and won’t go back, at least the DW won’t come with me if I do….

So have fun with the Snow Globe. Just keep the snow inside that globe, It was 78 here today and later this week excepting high 30’s…. with golf ball size hail predicted…

I was following the "bidding war" too. The thing I can't get over is there is another globe for sale on there now, which no one has bid on. The starting bid is just $12.00! I just can't see paying $95 for it. I guess the value of mine just REALLY went up.

Morning Folks,

Well, first off I need to learn how to spell "GLOBE" hehe
After the globe auction ended last night, I get this "second Chance" email from E-Bay telling me the seller happens to have a second globe ( #717)) and willing to sell it to me for my last bid of $81.87 plus the 12 bucks shipping. Mom and I were going halves on the glode, but it's still a lot of money, BUT darn being such a DIEHARD Sunline fan, I sure would like to have it.
Money to burn, not hardly. I am 52 yo, drive a school bus for a living, and found myself suddenly divorced after 33 years, so now I MUST maintain a home & RV on one salary. Started rv'ing 11 years ago in an $800.00 popup & a subaru S/W. My dad had just past away, he was going to take my mom cross country. Well, I step in, tell her I'll take her, but to cut costs we bought the pup & Subaru. My ex was fine with me doing this. Well, like many I was hooked on Rv'ing and seeing this wonderful country. OH, then I discovered Sunline, and we all know what that leads to. Due to the divorce, our home was sold (WV is a 50/50 state) even though he walked out (with someone else), so I had to fight to keep my pension, etc. Once house was sold, I chose to live in a mobile home, replaced my 1991 Explorer (172K miles) and 1986 Sunline T-1660. I purchased my truck, the Sunline and mobile home which are fully paid for, as I could not do monthly payments on my salary. Then I had to buy tools and all the other stuff to maintain a home, truck & Sunny. So, I really don't have $$ to burn, I pinch pennies just like everyone else these days in order to have our extras. IF I lived where is was warm, I'd have choosen to full-time in Sunny, but I need to work 9 more years, before I can do that.

Always beware of sellers who offer you "another" one--- one that they did not have listed before.

I now seee that the 2nd auction is sprialing out of control too.

This person many have a box of 50? I may also be wise NOT to mention auctions on this board as that increases interest.....

Its too bad the club could nto have gotten a few of these and auciton them here to raise money for the club.

I think this guy buys stuff and resells it. I have noticed him a few times before, and if you look at the stuff he sells, it is all 'random'. We were the ones that he out bid for the Second snowglobe, but I figured we would not get it anyhow, because I refuse to pay that much for it. I mean, thats like 4 days of campsite fees!

I decided to send the first seller a message to she (I assume) indeed had more, and she replied "a couple". I am a bit suspicious of that behavior though.

There is nothing illegal about it, it all supply and demand. More power to her, I suppose. I am not casting dispersions on buyers or sellers, as for all I know they are member of this forum.

IF you are new to E-bay, you must realise that bidding can escalate very easily if you buy into E-bay's scam, where they tell you they think you should bid high to preserve your bid.

They have quite a computer program that ups each competing party's bid and create more profits for themselves. I knew of someone who once thought nothing bad could happen if they put a high amount of $300.....in a matter of minutes they helped inflate the price from $20 to $225.

Its like anything else, beware and be smart. But don't complain if you don't get what you want, or pay too much. This is why auctions can make serious money.

Lets hope Sunline does so well on their auction!

Ask her the numbers of each of the snowglobes. There were only 1008 made, so the numbers shouldn't be higher than that.

Just a little FYI, I'm not accepting the "second chance" offer on the globe, someday I'll have one. And once I get it, it will sure be a treasured possesion just like my 2499.

I think that is a wise decision, Kitty! If she really does have another one, it will go up for auction as well. That is a 'safer' way to get one, IMHO.

I contacted the "other seller".

I asked if they too had more than one........This seller indicated that "if they could remember what antique shop they saw them in, they might be able to get more".

So I assume, we all now know that these can end up in flea markets, yard sales, or antique stores. I would assume those who live in the part of the state near Denver, PA, might have a better chance of finding them.
