I'm happy to announce that there's now a Wikipedia article on Sunline!

I was reading about the Vixen motorhome one day last November, and one of the top results was a Wiki page for it. It wasn't much of a page, but it gave me the idea that there should be one for Sunline too, since the one I wrote on Tin Can Tourists isn't easy to find. The Wikipedia approval process is difficult, especially when you present a fully written article for submission and not just a basic idea, but I was just notified today that the article is fully approved and live!

Take a look at it below and let me know if you see anything that needs to be changed! I had to remove a lot of content from the original draft to make it fit their rules, so I may have removed something that should be added back.

Hi Jon,

Wow... Very Nice! That write up is outstanding!!! I really hope some of the former Sunline employees see that some day. I can see the pride of their work come over them like a warm glow.

Excellent! Thank you for pulling all that detail together and getting it through the approval process.

I learned a lot of missing pieces reading it over. Great!!!

Thanks again!!

John

Thanks all! I did send it one former employee so far. In the end, despite the challenges, it was fun to create. If I had more of a computer programming background, the formatting part of it would have gone a lot easier.

I would have included more pictures in there, but Wikipedia has strict rules about copyrights and you being the author, so I was hesitant. As always, if anyone ever wants to see a picture of anything Sunline, I'd be happy to help if I can.

Question

Can anyone tell me what model this is?

Jon,

Excellent article! Thanks for being willing to “jump through the hoops” to get a Sunline presence on Wikipedia.

I love the Wiki Page and that picture of the 52 Sunline campers at the Buttonwood Campground on that Wike page is awesome. What is the little tiny cute Sunline trailer in that PIC with the pick up / boat on top and the blue tent? It is adorable.

That is a 1980 SunSpot! Marshall and Sue had 3 of them the last count I know of....

This was their intro post years ago when the bought it. And it use to have lots of pics of it. The file server they where on must of been shut down as the pics are no longer http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f69/new-to-us-1980-sunspot-9666.html

We were at that rally. Our T310SR is at the bottom of the pic with the green carpet under the awning. Maroon F350 truck, our campsite was next to all the people in line as we cooked breakfast for the group.

I will see if I have any pics of the Sunspot at that rally. I'm sure Sunline Fan as some stashed somewhere.

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick update that I made a small update to the Wikipedia page, adding in very local to me news article from last year, regarding a standoff with police and a guy who had barricaded himself in a Sunline. It did have an unfortunate end, but the Sunline was in the spotlight on local news for a day or two.

If anyone else finds any new, relevant news articles that feature Sunlines, please let me know and I'll be happy to add them, even if they are not the best news.
