Stereo antenna...

Question for all you electronic guru's out there. I have mounted a car stereo inside the 1850. There is an existing hole in the back that the previous owner had a CB antenna ran thru. Give me some ideas as to how to rig up a homemade antenna so I can get good reception out in the far reaches of the woods! I just have a coax cable ran thru right now and it works somewhat but it looks tacky and AM reception is poor. I might want to listen to a Saturday nit football game somewhere this fall...Go Dawgs!
 
Can't help in terms of sound quality or anything like that, but I can say that this is the antenna that Sunline used on trailers with radios installed from the factory. They started out in the early '90s with the antennas mounted on the sidewall, but then they moved it to the roof around 1995/96.
