Spring Forward

Also, change the batteries and check your smoke detectors for proper operation!!

It's amazing how many stories you see where there either were no detectors or they were inoperable when a fire strikes.

There was a fire about 10 miles south of Buttonwood Tuesday night that killed 7 sleeping children aged 7 months to 11 years. The reports haven't said anything about smoke detectors, but I doubt that all seven would have slept through one going off. Unfortunately, mom was in the barn and dad was at work. The surviving child (3) awoke to the smell of smoke, went to get mom and she could not get back into the house due to fire and smoke conditions. Very sad, and my prayers go out to the family and the responders.
