And the only boon docking campground I have been to that has both a fire wood truck and an ice cream truck that comes by once or twice a day....

John B posted this statement about the firewood and ice cream truck coming through the campground in another thread. I thought it would be fun to hear about other places where we've experienced these special treats.

Here's mine..........

At Old Mill Stream campground, in Lancaster, PA there is an Amish couple who come through the campground everday in a horse drawn buggy that has been specially modified to carry cakes, pies, breads, and canned goods (jams, jellies, etc.). Emma makes some of the best goodies I've ever tasted. You knew you were in for a real special treat when you saw Daniel riding atop the big white igloo cooler in the classic kids red wagon tied to the back of buggy, because they had ice cold homemade Root Beer and/or Lemonade!!!!

Fair Haven State Park in New York has an old ice cream truck which makes his rounds daily by the son of the original owner. The original owner, a WWII veteran from the Army Air Corps, bought the truck and picked it up in New Jersey and then drove it back to Fair Haven in the mid 50's. He still runs the very nice Camp Store and his son still drives the Ice Cream truck daily. You just HAVE to buy ice cream from an ice cream truck!

Years ago in Both Bay Harbor ME (can't remember the name) the owner would take orders for lobster, time you wanted them, steam them and deliver to your site with a motor bike.
