Although I was originally considering replacing my 1999 T-2570 with a fifth wheel, the cost of doing so (along with loss of truck bed) have me considering a larger used Sunline with slide-out.

I've looked at every SR series Sunline on the internet (that I could find) and from what I saw in the pictures, the queen bed is usually open to the living area, separated by an accordian style door.

Nothing against type of floorplan, but my 96 24' Saturn had this feature and I didn't like it due to lack of privacy. One thing we love about our 2570 is the middle bath, which does a great job separating our sleeping area from that of our children, or guests if we have them.

Can anyone recommend a model with slideout that might work for us? It would need to be AT LEAST as big as the 2570 we currently have, but would prefer something closer to 30'. Tow vehicle is not a problem, I have a 3/4 ton Silverado D/A.

Check out the brouchures under the FILES section, the '07 model year has several 28' (286, 289) and 30' (299) footers that meet your requirement.

Here see this new add Sunline Fan fowarded to me.

2004 T310SR for Sale

It has a front bedroom, center walk thru bath (with doors) couch and dinnete full slide and rear living area. And lots of inside storage.

The T310SR is built like a 5 'Er rear living layout less the 5th wheel part.

We have one and truely love it. And you have the right truck to tow it.

If this interests you, let me know as I have many pic's of the inside of mine.

JohnB,

Thanks for the info. After reviewing the brochures in the files section, I think the 286SR would be perfect for us. It's still small enough (<30ft) to get into some of the tighter campgrounds here in MI, but without sacrificing the layout I'm looking for.

It is unfortunate, there don't seem to be many of them for sale, anywhere.

Jeff,

I had the pleasure of touring both Sunline Fan's 286 and JohnB's 310 last year at the meet and greet. They are both very well laid out and absolutely beautiful inside. It was amazing to see how much "space" there was in both models.

If I was in the market to replace our 2363, I personally would be taking hard looks at both of those models myself.

Ok, ok, so maybe I have a little bit of coach envy ;) But they both left a real nice impression on me.

The 286SR is still available at Stoltzfus RV, if you decide to check on it please ask to speak to Lee, he KNOWS his stuff. He is TOTALLY honest and will do the best deal possible for you. Jon & JohnB can tell you, YES you will probably have to TRAVEL to get the Sunline of your dreams, but it will be so worth it. I travel 3 hours to deal with Lee and have done so for close to 10 years now.

Good Luck in you search,

Kitty

This isn't an '05, it's an '06. The 286SR didn't come around until the 2006 model year. This dealer has been advertising it as an '05 for a while...maybe they'd sell it at an '05 price!

Jeff, excellent choice. There really aren't many in MI at all, I think mine is only one of two or three that I know of, and both the second and third are not confirmed.

Keep in mind that if you would like to go earlier than '06, the 280SR is pretty much the same basic floorplan. You gain a little bit different kitchen layout, a chair, and a reversed bathroom, but that's about it. The bedroom is still seperate from the rest of the coach, and the bathroom.

The bad news is though that the 280SR's are just as uncommon around here.

Do you have an idea of what interior you want? The reason I ask this is I was set on the cherry wood, which was only available in '07, so my options were really limited. I also wanted new, which made it even harder yet. If you don't mind the standard maple wood, you can get either an '06 or '07.

Here's another:

2006 T-286SR @ Susquehanna Valley RV, Selinsgrove, PA

If you're interested in the one at Stoltzfus, send me an e-mail. It was an option when I got mine, so I got some stuff on it. I never actually saw it in person though, but there are plenty of people here who live nearby who can take a look.

I live 3 minutes from Stoltzfus and am happy to go and look over their 286SR for you. We have bought all our trailers from Lee. Our latest, Tweety, came from there. It was the first used trailer we ever purchased and it was like new when we picked it up! PM me if you want me to check it out.

Jon, The dealer may be looking at the manufactrue date on the sticker on the front left of the coach. It could of been made in late 2005 even though it is a 2006 model. Generally they do not try to make them older, at least on purpose anyway.

And yes you are right the T286SR came with the 06 models. Hutches is the T280SR in 2005.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, and especially, the offers to check out coaches for me. I really appreciate it.

I'm kinda stuck at the moment, for a couple reasons. First, I don't want to buy something until I get rid of the old one, and second, I really don't want to spend a ton of money, which precludes nearly-new models which is the only year I can buy to get the floorplan I want. I'd like to keep my "difference" under $7500 total, which is going to be really tough to do... going from a 1999 to a 2006 which is a more expensive model to begin with.

Jeff,

If you are looking at the T-286SR, you may want to also look at the 2005 or older T-280SR.
As JohnB indicated, the T-280SR was the precursor to the T-286SR and it has a very similar floor plan.
Here's the floor plan of a T-280SR

Here's link to a 2002 T-280SR for $11,995 that I found doing a quick Goggle.

I'm not sure what year the T-280SR was introduces (Jon - Sunline Fan could tell you), I know they made them in 1999. So you might have a good chance of finding a used T-280SR in the price range you are looking for.

Hope this helps.

The T-280SR was introduced in 1998 and lasted through 2005. The model did exist prior to 1998 as a Saturn model, the T-28SS, but that was only in 1997. There were a bunch of those 28SS's up for sale about a year ago, they seemed to have died down some now.

Jon

JohnB, that 03 looks real nice, but unfortunately it was already sold when I asked about it.

I'll be patient, and hope to find something nice, now that I have a couple different models to choose from. Thanks everyone!

Jeff
