Don't you hate bad smells you can not quite find?? We had a bad smell in the back of our house that we thought was a bad potato. We looked and looked with out success. Then a bent down real low and there in a very good trap was a mouse that had been left a little too long. smell all gone now thank God.

Short of ripping out the sink and stove unit, we'll never know what the cause is. It's pretty sickening when it's warm and humid. It also pervades the bedding, our clothing and everything in the draws under the sink and stove. We'll be selling "Stinky" soon anyway. This old unit just has too many issues we can't deal with, either in time or financially. Randy's arthritis prevents him from doing a lot of things (repairs, carpentry) he did when he was younger. We don't want to put more money into it as it's 28 years old.
Another issue is the bathroom/shower. It's more to shower a child than an adult. I can see why Norm is enlarging his. The bathroom sink has a crack in it and leaks. The bed is too narrow for two adults to sleep comfortably and one must crawl over the other to get out of bed. OK for young agile folk, a bit much for two seniors. The A/C is old and so loud you can't have a normal conversation when it's running. Here in the south A/C is very important. There's no comfortable way to watch TV or DVDs since the only place to sit is at the table with our necks crooked since the only place for the TV is over the bed. Opening and closing the bed every day isn't at all practical.
At our age we need something larger that doesn't require major changes by a carpenter to be comfortable.
This trailer needs someone younger who is good with tools or who only needs a camper for the weekends or overnight stays.
Stinky will be the last used trailer we ever buy. We checked out other used units and they all had problems. Draws falling apart. Leaky roofs. Spongy floors. You name it, they're trying to sell it. Now that we KNOW what to look for, we can't be ripped off again.
Sadly, since Sunline went out of business, we had to look at other brands. We found a 19' 2008 leftover brand new Zinger ZT19RD we plan to pick up this week from the local dealership. Any problems and we take it back for free repairs as it comes with a Warranty. If we could locate a used Sunline, we'd again be stuck with all the repair bills. Remember the $500 black water tank Stinky needed? There is no way the man couldn't have known that tank was split and leaking. Once they have your money, you're on your own with used units. :?
If Sunline was still in business, we would have looked at them first for a new trailer. But that was not an option. They've been out of business too long to find a brand new leftover 19 to 22' unit complete with 2 to 4 yr warranties.
