Jan and I will be at Rose Point Campground in New Castle Pa July 16 and 17 leaving sometime on the 18th. Big family reunion (Hobbs, Kerr, Moore, Leeper) in Beaver County the 17th. Always a cold one in the frig.

Have fun! Do your Moore's connect to Chester County William Moore's, who built the first public house in the vicinity in the year 1734 - The "Bull" tavern ?

I've been working on the family ancestry's and my husband believe's his family connects, but I haven't gotten it figured out yet.

I also do a lot of work on my family's ancestry. I have the Kerr's back to County Antrim, Ireland in the 1600s, the Hobbs' and Shipleys back to Baltimore in the 1600s, the Quigley's to Armstrong County, Pa in early 1700s but my info on the Moores is not much. My maternal grandfather was Paul Clyde Moore of Hookstown, Pa. He had a sister Kassy. That is all I have at this time.

Those Moore's seem to make it hard! I can get many sections of family back to the 1500's . . but Moore's I am stuck at late 1800's . . I have some family stories that suggest further back, but can't trace it.

The Shipley's were a big family name in Anne Arundel County, MD (just south of Baltimore). At one time they owned most of the north-western part of the county. In the late '60's/early 70's my father belonged to a beagle club that was leased from the Shipley's. There was a rather large family cemetary dating back to the late 1600's. Unfortunately, it is gone now, the victim of highway construction (MD 100) and a huge regional mall, Arundel Mills.

Every time I go to through the intersection of Ridge Road and Route 100, I try to figure where the cemetary was and I wish I was still following the hounds.

My Great Great Great Grandfather Hanson Hobbs married Mary Ann Shipley in Anne Arundel County 22 Jan. 1791. It is thought but not fully confirmed that Mary Ann's cousin Lucy Shipley is the mother of Nancy Hanks, mother of Abe Lincoln. All this is written in a book The Shipleys of Maryland.

I have always wanted to spend some time there to research the Shipleys.

The Capitol KOA in Millersville is a great campground to work from, and a T276SR fits in there very nicely!!;-);-)
