put in bay camping

Just wondering if anyone has camped on south bass island?
Heard some great things about put in bay.
Any suggestions about a campground, the ferry, good eats and taverns would be appreciated.

I was to one of those islands with the Boy Scouts. Took a ferry over and they put us in a special tent area for groups and waht ever island that was I "thought" it was the only campground on that island. I know not much help.... but

Don't know if you have this link to the Ohio Parks system. That hopefully will take you to all 3 of the island campground and some do take campers.

Ohio State Parks - Lake Erie Islands State Park (Catawba, Kelleys, South Bass)

The island we where on was nice. Roads but no cars..... so you walked down the roads not problem. Very nice area all 3 of the islands I have heard.

I see your from Hamburg, my wife is from Williamsville. In fact we just returned from some vacation at DW mom's out in Silver Creek, Handford Bay area.

Thanks for the web site, I've made a reservation at south bass island
state park.
Checking on a ferry, I found a very informative site at Millerferry.com.
