Puma TT Roll-Over on Atlantic City Expressway

It's very clear in the picture, that the body separated from the frame..

You can also see, that the slide survived relatively intact. I'm assuming that the gray vehicle, next to the tongue of the camper, is the TV. I'd love to examine the hitch setup... I wonder if it was friction sway control. It also appears, that the TT is resting on a jersey wall. That may have contributed to the frame separation..

I hope nobody was hurt..

That happened less than 10 minutes from my house. I didn't see it, but from what I heard it was quite a mess. The pictures kitty linked pretty much confirm that.

That road is about as straight as you can get, but I have seen countless numbers of people driving it like it's the autobahn. I don't know if speed was a factor here, but wouldn't be surprised if it was. :(

OMG... The entire roof is blown off the camper.

What little the new clip said

The camper crashed at about 11:45 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the A.C. Expressway near the 42 Freeway.

The camper flipped and shattered, sending its contents and debris all along the roadway.

There are no reports yet of any injuries.

Officials don't know how long it will take for the wreckage to be cleared and for traffic to return to normal.

Hope no one was hurt.

I doubt the gray pickup with the ladders on top is the TV. The truck would have to be more affected and the ladders come off. That may be a service vechile.

SunlineFan, where/how did you make the connection to it being and F150 as the TV?

Thanks

I just assumed that with all the debris around it that it was the tow vehicle. The flipped over trailer frame also looks a bit close to the back of the truck, and if it was a service vehicle, it seems unlikely that the back would be that close because it doesn't look like the back of the cap could be opened.

It just looks like an F-150 to me. I has the chrome logo on the left side of the tailgate and it has the more squared off appearance to the tail lights that the SD's didn't have until 2008.

Also, it looks like the top of the right tail light is broken.

Here's a pic I found of a Dark Shadow Gray Metallic F-150, which just happens to have a cap:

And the one in the accident again:

Thanks Jon

I agree it's a Ford, and good hunting on that pic, just how it is not wrecked is amazing if it was the TV. I can't make that leap just yet. There also looks like 4 x 4's cribing stacked in a log cabin so to speak pattern right behind the truck. That is not from the accident. Must be part of the clean up process

John

We all learn something from these things.

I've been keeping an eye on the local news sources to see if anything else is mentioned. So far, it's only been mentioned as an "accident with injuries" - no other details.

Wow

Looks like he caught a wheel and rolled his TV and TT up the jersy barrier with his TT going over the top. Those Jersy barriers do save lives by preventing head on collisions but you dont want to catch a tire on them.
It seems that you just walk right up the side of the barrier. Add a 7,000 lb camper attached to the rear of your truck and you have some real interesting physics going on.

I hope this families injures were minor. Since it sounds like this was an accident with injures.
