Possible victim of Refer recall

Jon

I hate seeing that. That is one of my worst nightmares. That is as bad as a towing accident.

That is a 10,000 GVWR TT. The frame may be usable, but that is about it. What model was that?

I did have to play around to get the link to work. Had to cut and paste 3 times.

Can't get it at all. Maybe someone can copy it into a "reply"

'00 T-260SR.

It was renamed the 264SR in '04-'07, so it would be the same as Art & Jan's and Mike & Roz's. This is why I think it could have been a refer fire is because the bedroom is pretty burnt, but so is the spot between both doors, and that's where the refer is (was).

For those of you who couldn't get the link copied, it won't highlight blue for the link initially, at least on my end. The text just turns from the light bluish background of the forum to white while you highlight. Then once it's all been highlighted, it should turn dark blue.

Just a story of a local guy who did just that, took the frame from a wrecked Coachman and beefed it up some. He had a Bar B Que business. He put the huge gas fired smoker in the middle and built a prep kitchen next to that, Makes his famous Tenn "punch" in coolers on the back. Complete with a fridge for salads and the like. He just comes to your house and backs it in the driveway about 3AM, plugs in and starts to smoke the best chicken, ribs and brisket ever. Drives the neighbors crazy with the smell, so you better invite them also. Not a bad deal for him from a pile of junk. There I go again associating every story with food.

   Dave,

That was the first thing I thought about when I saw the picture. "IF" I lived where this auction will take place, I'd try to contact the person that buys that mess and try to get the cover.

Maybe he could put it in the mail? He should be willing to take it off because I think I can safely say it can't be restored.

I'd love to put in a request for the VIN sticker, but I don't think he'd go for that. The RVIA sticker and anniversary seal look like they're there still though!

Too bad the LP cover is melted...that would be a good find too.

And while that back logo couldn't be put on anything, it might make a beautiful face for a clock :D

Well, Ya'll sure missed out on a real bargain. Now, just think you missed the chance to purchase that 2000 Sunline as it was sold today, and heck it really was a bargain..................brought a whooping $10.00

H'mm, wow... I thought the T264SR was a 8,600# GVWR TT. Did they water then down from a 10,000# GVW setup?

I am glad mine is setup at 10,000 GVWR. If it was setup as a 8,600# TT I would be a hurt'in.

H'mm gee, new spare axles for "The Camper 2" for $10 bucks. But probably $400 in gas to get it...

OK, it's time for me to fess up  I contacted the auction place yesterday to see "IF" I could get the tire cover, and the nice gal in the office took my name & number. She said the man that purchased this poor Sunny is always at their place, and that he was a nice guy, so she listened to my story about Sunlines, our group and our never ending efforts to keep them pristine. She offered to ask the man "IF" I could get the tire cover.

I received a return call today, the tire cover had been thrown in the trailer (is it really still a trailer :?: ), anyway, she spoke to the Sunny owner and he said he would not sell the cover, but he would give it to me. But, after she described the condition of the cover, it's not worth what postage would cost me. The cover is for lack of better words "Dry Rotted", she said it's all krinkly and cracked and brittle.

I thanked her for her time and assistance, and asked her to pass a thank you along to the new owner.

Jon, it might be worth a phone call to ask about the items you'd like to have for "The Sunline Museum" as they seem to be really nice people.

Kitty

I'm also still trying to catch up with the sign/graphics place here in town to see "IF" they can reproduce the Sunline logo and an approximate cost. I have my spare tire cover to take in as a sample, but mine is NOT the bright yellow sun
