But it was seriously looking like it might!

We camped in Gettysburg this weekend, at Granite Hill . . . and it rained and rained and rained! Haven't found a total for Gettysburg, but I see Harrisburg got 3.46 Inches.

While we were out for dinner in town, meeting friends, all of the major roads back to the campground were CLOSED  , and another campground had to be evacuated by boats.

Our drive back to the campground should have been 15 minutes, it took us over and hour and a half and MANY calls back to the campground for assistance in finding roads that were open (they were in contact with the Fire Chief's wife who was assisting them)

Several campers (and their tow vehicles) were pulled out of the mud by campground staff's tractor this morning.

Our camper is staying there, and we will be returning for Easter weekend, hopefully a DRYER weekend! :D

Great news, that your Sunline didn't float away! Our Sunny braved the high winds and heavy rains like a champ! Our "Sunny pit" and our driveway didn't do so well. If I had not put 7 railroad ties under where Sunny's tires sit, I'm sure it would have sunk into the mud!

I have a serious case of camping itch and would love to try pulling the fifth wheel, with the new-to-us TV. I'm just worried that if I got Sunny out of the pit, I would never be able to get it back in! There is way too much mud!

Good to hear Sunny is not afloat

We camped at a park near Elkhart IN a few years ago in the summer. We where on high ground but the lower part of CG was under a 1.5 feet of water... The river overflowed with high rains.

When ever we use to set up tent camp we always made it a point to see what was around us if something could fall on us or float us under. Same good good thing to do even with a TT.

I must admit I have had more concerns over dead trees in the CG's then high water but that too happens

Glad things work out OK

Yes that WV red clay I'm sure is as bad as VA red clay.... What slime when wet. Ohio clay is not far behind. It goes from sog city to concrete come summer...

Just think, now you have 2 extra tires on the new Sunny hauler to keep you afloat. And 2 more to get stuck that much worse...

Hope it dries up soon so you can get out.
