I want to post on a thread and link to my picture album here. That doesn't seem to work. Can it be done? How?

For instance when I click to insert a picture and use the URL of a picture in my album the picture doesn't show. I do get a nice pizza box though.

What you have is an HTML link to a page wrapped in image tags

Your link:
Code:
http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/members/1830-albums100-picture885.html

But the image is:
Code:
http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/members/1830-albums100-picture885.jpg

That second example needs:
Code:
 [img] .... [/img]
to show up like this:

1830-albums100-picture885.jpg

--------
BTW: the "code" tag in this version of vBulletin doesn't work correctly on this forum. When I put code in the box to show how it would be typed, the forum parsed the tag inside the code box and inserted the image. That is not correct, nothing inside the code box should be parsed.

Thank you Gene. I opened the picture page and copied the page URL instead of the adddress of the actual picture. shame on me.

I think what got me was trying to use the insert picture button when posting. It asked for the http of the picture so I tried to give one. I just gave one for the page the picture is on instead of one of the picture.

Thanks again.

So that is how you can show the code and not have it try to post  Do a quote and stuff the code in the quote. Here I have been trying to help folks by trying to break the auto recognition with a syntax error. This new software is hard to trick that way. I like the Who wrote by quote feature better. Then it is just raw text in the quote box.

Thanks for the tip. Learn something new every day here on Sunline Owners Club :)

It sure is hard to show a full link post in here.....

I did a screen capture of the code, saved as a JPG and posted a link to that.

Jim, thanks but that is about 3 steps longer

If you use the Quote commands then anything inside the quote is text and the system does not try and think it is a URL

Like this

Jim's Mud Flap pic is at this location
Or this

Oddly enough it is a hot link still but the raw code shows so I can explain to someone what they are doing wrong on why their pic will not post. This never dawned on me before.
