Hello Everyone,

My wife and I would just like say hello to the club and get acqauinted with the site and the members. We purchased our 26' - '88 Sunline Satellite September 2009 and enjoy it very much in spite of it's age. We'll post some pictures to the site in the Spring & Summer once we get it on the road and taking trips.

This is our first camper and it suits our needs quite well in spite of some repairs we need to make before we can travel with it. The previous owners bought it 2 years before we did, parked it in their yard and there it sat until we came along. So for sitting untended to for 2 years, it was in pretty good shape. It has some minor problems but as Spring approaches those will be repaired or replaced and we'll be on our way to enjoying the "portable home" lifestyle.

I do have one question that some of you might be able to answer. I'm considering buying a portable generator for our rig and I'd like to know what's the smallest size I can get that will run the whole camper to include the A/C, the furnace and all the electric. The rig has a 30 amp electric system on it if that helps.

Have a good day and maybe we'll meet some of you when we start taking trips.

Welcome to the SOC! And congratulations on your new-to-you Sunline.

Please consider coming to the Buttonwood M&G in June. It is always fun and so nice to meet the folks we "talk to" via this forum.

Where in MD are you? We live on Kent Island?

Hi and thank you for answering our post. We're not far from Kent Island. We're on the other side of the bridge in Millersville. When & where in June is this M & G you mentioned? We have a trip in the planning for late June that's hopefully going to be a special one. However if there's no conflict in our plan, we'd be happy to maybe add it to our list of things to do this summer. Do you know of any local RV groups like to Good Sam Club that we could look into joining?

Welcome aboard! As you will quickly learn, there are a lot of us with Sunlines that are 10 and 20 years old and even older. They hold up better over time than most other brands, and that's why so many of us are so loyal.

Somebody else just asked about generators for travel trailers within the past week or so.

There's already been a number of discussions on generators (and most any other topic you can think of.) It's good to use the search function first as many, many topics have already been thoroughly discussed. And you'll likely get your answer right then and there.

The Buttonwood Meet & Greet is in Mexico, PA, which is south of State College and north of Harrisburg. It is being held June 11-13, so it won't conflict with Memorial Day plans.

Here's the announcement:

Thanks Everyone

Thank you everyone for the welcome to the club. So far it seems like a nice place to give and get help on camper issues. We're looking forward to getting our rig on the road and joining the festivities.

As far as the M & G goes, we may be able to make it. We did see the post on the M & G forum. And it won't conflict with our other plan. We'll let the gorup know if we're definiately a go or no go in a couple weeks.

Take care and thanks again.

I see that you have the information on the Meet & Greet and hope that you can make it! We have a wonderful time there.

We are Good Sam members but have no idea of any Good Sam events or other camping clubs in the area as we are very new to camping. I think the Highways magazine from Good Sam does list events.

Paul and Terri have a Sunline Fiver and are also from Kent Island so they may have more information about camping. Hopefully they will chime in with suggestions.

Are you prepared for the anticipated snow?

Hi

Hi there,

As prepared as we can be. lol. We're not really looking forward to it. lol. We're ready for Spring. Not to mention it'll affect my work. They've already called early dismissal for schools tomorrow and I'm anticipating not going back to work until Tuesday or Wednesday. Plus our camper tow vehicle is broken and I have to fix it this weekend since it's also my main transportation. Talk about "when it rains, it pours". lol.

Anyhow, we'll keep checking this site and stay in touch. We hope you're ready to "weather" the storm also. Stay warm and dry and have a good weekend.
