We are the happy owners of a 1983 Sunline in much need of repair/renovation. It is a family project for this winter. We are in the process of taking out all water damaged and moldy walls, which seems to be all of them! Excited to finish deconstructing and get on to reconstructing.

:DWelcome Urbanhiker!

Congrats on your new Sunny and project...

It would be great if you can create a post in the Repairs and Maintenance forum on your camper rebuild. Many members learn from these and you can ask questions you have. Pics really help too!

Looking forward to your progress. We have several rebuilds underway by other members too. Have a read up on them, they may help you on how they are doing theirs. This post has some links to others ongoing now. https://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f71/from-optimism-to-reality-19759.html#post152848

Welcome Urbanhiker,
I had one just like yours and truly enjoyed our rebuild. I did put up a number of pics showing both exterior and interior upgrades. Just when we finished it , a wonder couple made us an offer we couldn’t refuse. May you guys make beautiful memories with your sweet little camper.

Hi y'all.. I have a 1983 Sunline camper that looks just like yours, only different.. our entrance door is at the rear.. Everything works except what's broke.. [the water pump pumps, the fridge fridges, the lights light but the furnace doesn't furn and the converter doesn't convert..] has some water damage in rear but unit is still in use, sometimes..
Hope Ur restoration goes good.. then U can fix mine! Larry

I have towed my 1983 T1550 to Montauk Point for over ten years 2 to 3 times a year (400m roundtrip). It's still very solid, everything still works, needs some cosmetic work but otherwise is a peach. We just upgraded to a larger camper. I may have to sell the Sunny this spring, but with regrets.

Good luck with yours. It's a great little scamper.

Looks a lot like my 1986. We bought ours in 96 and I have managed to keep it up. Tow mine with a Ford Ranger 2.3 liter. I must have pulled ours around 40,00 miles now. Many trips to Disney, Williamsburg, and many many to myrtle beach. I have redone a lot of things on that camper over the years and it is still just right for my wife and I. Have fun.
