New T-2753 owners...first trailer

Hello all! We bought our Sunline this past fall and have been lurking around here to gather information. The previous owners of our trailer told us about this site and it's been quite informative and helpful in our journey. This is our first trailer and we only had time for one camping trip before winter set in so now that spring is here we're looking to get out and about. Glad to be a part of this community!

Thanks! We're excited to have our first full season of camping ahead of us.

For Gene:
I noticed we're running the same tow vehicle as you. We have a little bit more sway from our rig with the friction sway control. How do you like your dual-cam setup?

If it interests you, I added a K&N intake last year and it really woke up the pulling power. I didn't see any noticeable changes in MPG but it's more responsive, which helps with our heavy rig.

I am quite pleased with the Dual Cam. It is the only system I have used since I bought my 2363. I have not had any problems with sway except maybe once or twice with a real stiff and gusty crosswind, 30-40 mph. Both times I slowed from about 62 to 55 and all was good. I can "feel" it when the big rigs pass me but nothing that moves me more than a few inches, if that.

I have weighed the rig and the trailer is about 5100# loaded for travel and the tongue weight on my Sherline scale is 625 to 650#. Having enough tongue weight helps eliminate the sway.

I will have to look into the K&N intake, Thanks.

Welcome to SOC! Enjoy your 2753 and post some pixs - we love 'em here!

Last Spring, we replaced the friction sway control that came our 2363 with dual cams. It was worth it, however, beware! The RV dealer mechanic who installed ours did it wrong, even tho' he said he had installed 4 or 5 DCs prior to ours. With a lot of help from SOC member JohnB, we re-did the installation ourselves - and learned a lot from it. Like Gene, we've only noticed a little movement when the big rigs are passing us at 70+ mph. Your 2753 is bigger than our 2363, so, FWIW, we'd definitely recommend it.
