New England Meet & Greet in 2013

Understood Mainah. I don't want your campground to do anything they don't normally do.. especially since we are so undecided. They know they can do well with the Fair campers and then close as usual. That is perfectly understandable ! Your offer of your own land is most kind and one of these days we intend to take you up on that! Only speaking for Tom and me, this particular Oct. weekend will be our last outing of the year and we're hoping to use it to do a thorough clean-out at a full hook-up place.

Still hoping we get a few ideas on what (or if) people want to do... or maybe we just have some mini get-togethers throughout the season to toss around ideas for a future New England Meet and Greet ??

They will but it is a favor for me. We have all ready started getting things ready and don't open till May 15.

Date? Late July or early August work best for us. The state parks fill up fast. Anyone else? There is also a KOA just down the road from this. If anyone chose to stay there we could still meet up at the State park for a picnic, etc. This is the home to Quechee Gorge, a spectacular site and there is a lot to do in the area. I will provide more details if we get a small group interested in this !

I would love to make it. Time frame sounds good except weekend of 7/26, 7/27. First weekend in Aug would be good. Live fairly close so could help with what needs helping with, maybe the day before.

OK, I would suggest we get going for the weekend of Aug. 1 and 2. Since we're sort of late planning (usually these things get going a year ahead!) do you want me to reserve a site just for out get-togethers? Does anyone have canopies, etc. in case of rain? so -Queeche State Park. FYI, the bath houses (by the rec field) at the state park are state-of-the art solar powered. Very nice ! This is an award-winning park and very much in demand so jump on the reservations if you'd like to attend.

We can sort of wing it and see if we'd like to do this each year. It doesn't have to be too structured. If pot luck, etc. are hard to arrange, we can do drinks around the camp fire or bring your own picnic lunch and go for a short hike down to the gorge. There is a path to the gorge that is actually handicapped accessible and the gorge is incredible ! Bigger hikes for those who want adventure are possible. I'll try to put up some highlights of the area as time allows.

I have an EZUp and a couple of folding banquet tables.

Should probably start a new thread so that folks know this is a new rally...? Just the 2 cents from a newb here.... :)

Have not been to VINS yet. Maybe my Lab will have to wait in the truck? :)
I am new to this but assume we do a pot luck meal at some point? Lots of time for those types of decisions I suppose but how soon do we need to book a campground?
John

Yes, I would book soon.

Ben, I am starting a new thread. I may need some help with it as I am not too savvy on certain things like sticky threads.

Hunting dogs are probably not welcome in VINS, a bird sanctuary !! LOL But, I bet he'd be like a kid in a candy shop !

Saw the new thread. Will be booking soon. I am not experienced on this forum software, but I am sure that an admin could take care of sticking it for us. Let the planning begin!

Debbie and all, if you need help editing your sticky, let one of the mod's know, we can help. Good luck on your M & G.
