New England Meet and Greet 2014 (new)

Kathy and Leo, sure wish you could be there too. Could use your expertise and your good company. Another year?

Lynn - 13' + wide .. here are the details : Vermont State Parks - Lean-to Campsites

Hope we do not have to do this with tarps, etc. but need to be prepared in case of rain. We can bring tarps as well and I know we'll do just fine if we have to!

Hi all,
I just checked my equipment and found adjustable poles and guys etc for putting up the tarp off the lean-to. Of course, this is just an exercise in preparation as it will be perfect weather. Let me know if someone has a tarp- sounds like 14X16 or so would work- or I can just pick one up. Let me know.

The only thing we have is a giant pool cover we use to cover the garden when there is frost predicted. It is mildewy and not really pleasant to work with !

Also, if you need to be online, there is a free Wi-Fi "cafe", which is a picnic table by the woodshed. I've seen people on laptops over there so I guess it is for real.

Cool my wife can do her Kindle! That is an up date by the way she had said she was not going to go and then yesterday she asked what we were going to do with the dogs. We now have a friend coming to stay with the dogs. Our dogs are two Great Dane's so two big dogs and two people in a 17' camper seemed a bit off putting. If needed I have an easy up 10X10.

I will add your wife to list. What is her name? Nice to have her joining us !! Hope we do not need the easy up, but nice to know there is one if need be !

OK ! So far this is our group:
Tom and Deb (Th. Fri. Sat.) 2001 Solaris 250 SR Site - Birch (lean-to)
John and Polly (Fri., Sat.) 2004 Sunline T-1950 - Site 48
Lynn (Fri., Sat., Sun.) 1983 Sunline T-1550 - Site 17
Tim and Ann (Mainah) (Th. Fri. Sat.) 1990 T43 Sunline - Site 43
John and Jane (Fri.,Sat.) 1988 C802 slide in on a 1972 Ford - Site 6
Jane and Bev. 1980 Sunline - Site 16

OK, we have a second pool cover that has not been used on the garden. It is huge ! We will bring it and no need to buy any extra tarps .

Rain showers predicted, but not a wash-out.

Safe trip to all.

I have a few tarps, rope, pop-ups, etc. as well loaded in the trailer and/or truck.

I also have a big apple pie for Sat. night, which makes me think....what time is the pot-luck....more or less?

I'll bring a folding table as well. Will we need a couple of these?

We're waiting for a line of storms to pass before we head out. We've got a big round table, but sure, extra tables for food is always good.

We may go to VINS (Vermont Institute of Natural Science) on Sat. afternoon, but would be back by 5 or so. 6:30 ish? Then clean up the food and come back to socialize? If anyone has reason to eat earlier or later, that is fine !

P.S. VINS has raptor feeding each day and we have never seen that. Brought a hawk to them, but have not actually done the tour. It's just down the road. Short hike if you are inclined or 2 min. drive.

I have ropes, poles and tarps loaded also so that should keep the rain away!
Looking forward to this. Will see you tomorrow.
John

This was a lot of fun ! Weather was fine and we did not need the tarps, etc. Nice to meet everyone and see the Sunlines.

Our 25 footer was the "big guy" !! SO funny. Hope someone can post pictures at some point !

I hope we can do this again. Quechee was nice, but any suggestions for a
semi-central location are welcome ! The last weekend in July works well in case members want to attend the other meet and greets in June and Sept.

Let's talk about options when summer winds down!

Tom and Debbie,

You both did a wonderful job hosting the New England M&G. Great people and enjoyable company.

Nice mix of Sunlines from slide-in to small to medium to your huge 25 footer! ;-)

I'm looking forward to doing it again and want to say thank you to everyone who attended. Made for a fun get-together.
