My wife and i just bought a 1991Sunline solaris t-170 star ray. Can anyone help us out we never had a trailer before. Can you use your refg.or air and water heater on a 15amps ,i do not have a 30amp outlet to use at home to test run them x owner said they worked? Also what do you need to do to repack the wheel bearings? I`ll take any and all info.about trailer if someone has that information, we do not have any booklet information on The t-170. Welcome to Sunline Owners Club. You have a fine coach there and have come to the right place to learn about Sunlines.

To your question on the power, on 15 amps, the fridge and water heater can work but not the AC. AND make real sure there is water inside the water heater before turning heat on. And that the heater bypass valve is open allow water to go into it. If not, then firing it will cause quick problems (death actually) on the electric element if it has one. They burn out quick if not under water. If you do not know what I'm referring to on the by pass, ask away.

The AC unit ideally needs a 20 amp circuit to start. 15 may not even start it with the converter active. If you have a fan switch on the T stat, you can turn the fan on as a test, just do not turn on the compressor to cool. That will highly likely trip the breaker. If you are electrically friendly there is one way around it but you need to jury rig some things to start it on a 15 amp line. The inrush of the fan and compressor is a true 15 amps.

Suggestion: for about $25.00 at home depot you can buy an outside electric box with the 30a plug to fit your campers plug. Then with some wire and a 30a breaker you can set up your own hook up at home if the camper is parked in a handy place.

I've had my unit for 3 years now. We always dry camp, no utilities. The only time we've used the AC or Microwave is to test them in the driveway.

We keep both our rigs connected during the summer. Frequently using them for guest houses during the summer. We have to standard ac circuits, 15 amp for the trailer and 20 amp for the motorhome. As well we have made a connection to our sewer line to allow us to dump.

We plug our motorhome into a standard 20 amp circuit at home using a 30 to 20 amp adapter plug and never have a problem. We have electric hotwater on our motorhome and have absolutely no problems. We even occasionally run our roof air and do not trip the breaker. Of course we do not run the microwave and the air at the same time but 20 amps seems to be enough for most situations.

Our Sunline plugs into a seperate 15 amp circuit and runs most of the summer. We do not have air on our sunline but we do have an electric refrige and electric hot water with no problem.
