Yeah, no more stuff sliding behind the stationary panel and me standing on the sofa to reach it. I finally got over to pick up the new door I had made to replace that stationary panel over the sofa, and yesterday, I installed it. Now all I have to do is put the atomic clock on the new door.

Cost for the door was a whooping $25.00

Wow Kitty that looks GREAT !!! and the price is fantastic !!! I might have to go look and see where I could use another door :) I thought about between the 2 doors in the cabinet above the bed, but when I looked at them that space is really narrow in ours. I guess having the twin beds makes your cabinet different. You'll wonder how you lived without that door once you get used to it!

Pam,

That door pictured is over the sofa, and it will soon have the atomic clock attached to it. No more standing on the sofa to get stuff that has slid behind the stationary panel.

Now, here is a picture of the new door that I had made for the over the bed cabinet:

Those doors are real nice. Fine job. We have a few holes to door up ourselves.

Does your cabinet guy do orders and will ship them?

I have some clear maple up in the shed left over from when I made my sons crib and dresser set. Back then sparks flew out of the saw cutting it and it was still green then. Now that it is aged over 25 years I know it is going to be tuff to work and route it.

Might just be easier in this case to buy them since the price is very reasonable.

So far it might end up being Tweetys cabinet maker or yours.

What stain/clear cover did you use?

Again nice job and thanks for sharing.

Hi John,

Yes my cabinet maker is quite reasonable. He does custom work, he has to ''cause he's dealing with me" You shoud see some of the custom kitchen cabinets he has made.

"IF" timing was right, I could even bring built doors to Buttonwood with me.

My next project for him, is to alter my corner entertainment cabinet so that I can have the flatpanel TV mounted on a "door" that will swing open to reveal all that space behind the TV

My stain is a custom mix I had made and I have a quart of it, so it's available to anyone that needs to use it.
