First off, I know that I may be unique  .

I have a laptop with me traveling/camping for several reason (Geo-caching, work emergencies, mapping etc.). I bought a deeply discounted version of this from Best Buy:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8759257&st=usnb+tuner&type=product&id=1202650464330

Its the size of a small USB memory drive, and allows me to pick up digital signals/HD signals. I comes with a VERY geeky small antenna, but I also connected it to my trailer antenna, it it worked fine there too.

So, I now essentially have a flat screen for my trailer, and the picture is VERY sharp. I compared the non-digital, non-HD versions of the same channels with the new digital/HD version and the reception was night and day.

The laptop fits very nicely on my shelf (in the 2553) in the bedroom, and tilting the screen makes it EASIER to use than a TV in the same location.

It also comes with software to allow me to record video to my harddrive.

Added alue is that I have DVD playing capability via the laptop, nice portability---and battery life, so I think its a nice solution for about 50-60 bucks. (Laptop price not included  )

tv tuner

We have been using our laptop for a couple years with an older version of the tuner you are talking about. This year for some strange reason it bit the dust. The strange error I am receiving is that my decoder is in use by another program. But, after working through all the options, it appears to be a hardware issue. I am now looking at options, but have always liked being able to use the laptop for everything, internet, e-mail, geocaching, and TV.
