My 1st ever Camper: 1985 1350 13' Sunline :)

Hi all you fellow Sunline lovers!

I just bought this beauty ( I can see through her flaws ) yesterday;
after a couple of months of searching for a local lightweight ( under 2000 lbs) travel camper...

Don't know if I overpaid or not but I do know that I am so so very happy that this owners club exists with all of its invaluable information that already seems to be such a fantastic resource for me!

Thank you for being here! I look forward to learning all about these campers and everything that goes along with it............

Welcome! You sure have a cute camper - looks exactly like mine! They could be twins, except for the interior colors. I believe you probably have a 1550, not a 1350. It looks to be in really good shape. Enjoy it, we love ours.

I can say the same thing about my 1st ever camper, a 1983 T-1550....which I believe you have a T-1550 also.

I looked again at the Sunline Brochure info on the file section and sure enough my layout is a 1550.......I was going by the length of the camper itself which was alittle over 13' but I guess the model lengths include the hitch area also

Yes, she sure looks good but she does need a lot of work starting with probably a complete roof over, and then even having the shell removing to fix the walls and insulation from leaks.......then I will be looking into various other aspects that need attention such as the septic and I haven't even tested the water pump etc....yet.....I don't even know where the furnace :0 ...

I'll be downloading as much info from this site as I can and will most likely be posting like crazy in the repairs/maintenance section to take advantage of fellow members valuable knowledge...

On the Sunny side Shes got most of the original interior intact........roof A/C and electric and windows work great.......and hopefully much more will be in working order when I test them.....

If you have or know where I can obtain the original owners manual for this model; it would be greatly appreciated.

"On the Sunny side" - love it!!

For the owner's manual, I don't believe Sunline had specific owner's manuals. It was just a binder with generic stuff and information on each appliance. I have the original orange plastic binder, with all the equipment and appliance brochures. The original owners kept everything, which is pretty amazing since we are at least the fourth owners and it was all still in the camper. This stuff may already be copied in the file section. If you can't find it, let me know and I will try to scan and send it to you.

We were very lucky to find our Sunline, everything worked and there were no leaks anywhere, the roof, A/C, refrigerator, and ceiling were replaced by a prior owner. Just the outside was a little rough looking but I painted it and restored it to original. It was a lot of fun, and I got a lot of help from the folks on this forum.

I don't know anything about the keys, I will look at them when I get home. I know my husband had to fix a couple of the locks to get them to work, I think they all have the same key, but they may have been changed at some time.

The lady we bought it from had it on Craigslist for $2400, but she was desperate and we talked her down to $1800. She only owned it for a year; we bought it in June of 2011.

Most outside compartments on most brands use a standard 751 key available from any local RV dealer. I don't know if the 1983 vintage does but hopefully Jon (Sunline Fan) will step in here. If anyone knows, he does.

It wouldn't use a 751. The key it does use is some other kind of key, but I'm not sure if there's a standard name/number for it.
