Maybe selling our 2002 267sr, looking into a new ultra light keystone 5th wheel. Want to get rid of the bunks, and upgrade to a newer camper while ours is still worth something. I have actually found a keystone 5th wheel that weighs 200lbs less than my sunny with a 1000lb pin weight. Only problem is the closest unit is 2hrs away in Pa. By all the investigating I have been doing this looks like a towable trailer for my 07 ram and its has the layout we want. hate to get rid of the sunny cuz its such a nice camper. Would anyone know where I can get some real world numbers on my trailer?

I would be extremely cautious towing any fifth wheel with a half ton truck. Pin weight creeps up fast, and I bet if you check your truck's cargo capacity you will be surprised how low it is. Check inside the door sill and you should see a sticker that tells you the carrying capacity of the truck. Bear in mind, this number does not include your passengers, fuel, or other cargo.

I am still looking into the lightweight 5th wheel thing. My truck is rated for over 9k lbs tow capacity and a 1500lb payload. The campers we have been looking at come in around 6-6800lbs and most have a 1000 or 1100lb tongue weight

Right. Like I was saying, the 1500 lb payload rating does not include passengers, fuel or cargo. And the 1000-1100lb pin weight readings you are seeing are dry weights. Real world weights are considerably heavier (propane, battery, gear, clothes, dishes, food, etc).

I'm not saying don't do it. Just do your homework and be real careful. Good luck!

Ya im still working on all the numbers ect. I Have spoken to 3 different dealers, and I am actually waiting on a call from a friend who works for a camper company that sells hitch's ect to get some actual numbers and what his thoughts are. Since he has nothing to gain from my situation I dont see him lying to me
