Maxxair/Maxxair Turbo vs Fantatic Fan

We love our Fantastic Fan. The only thing I would have done different is to skip the rain sensor model and put a vent cover over it. The rain sensor is quite sensitvie and will shut it down on the slightest moisture. Also, you'll want to be able to use it when it's raining. We have three vents on our trailer and with the other two open and the fantastic fan running it stays quite comfortable even in the rain.

We have the Turbo Maxx. We like this version as it is a rain hood and fan. Can run it in the rain if you want to or leave the vent open if it is raining which is the main reason we went this route. We had more options and we do use it that way. The Turbo maxx may be a little more abuse proof on the hood then the other models. The thing is built like a tank.

We have the 3 speeds with the thermostat option. It also mounts over your existing vent verses taking up the vent completly. Not that taking up the vent is a show stopper, just that is the way the others work.

That said, many have the Fantastic fan and really like them. They are a good product too. This is sort of like power tongue jacks, all of them are good, each has little differences.

The fact of just plain having a good fan system is a very nice upgrade.

Your welcome. Glad to help. You cannot go wrong with most of the aftermarket fan systems, they are all choices....
 
I have the Maxx Air turbo. Put it on the Sunline and again on the new Rockwood. Haven't tried the Fantastic Fan though. The newer turbo has a hinged hood so it's easy to clean out the leaves. Easy install too and never think about rain.
 
I agree with the rain sensor, it does work well and is fine if you are not around but it does cycle and will drive you nuts in a light rain because it opens and closes I bought mine on sale and wanted to be able to reverse it and use the thermostat but a cover would be a plus.
 
Are you referring to a Fantastic Fan here as as reply to rebellious78 post?

No Mack C85's post. I do have a fantastic fan it works super and draws little power on low. The rain sensor would not really be necessary with a cover but that is the way it came and I have no cover so it opens and closes when it rains it does close and after awhile it drys out and opens again gets rain on and closes again. I can say it does a great job of cooling the camper and the thermostat works very well. If you have no cover you can go away and let the sensor close the lid if it rains does not matter if the fan is running or not.
 
Question on installation. Since I want to put in in the living room vent where there is no existing fan, do I tap into the nearby light fixture to hook up the electric?

This isn't my T-1950 I just grabbed it from the Internet to illustrate

Yes the vent has a tube through the vent frame but no wires (well mine did not) so I just tapped into a light that was quite close. Looks like yours will be an easy install.
 
I purchased my Maxxair Turbo and Amazon just send me an e-mail that its suppposed to arrive this Monday. I am having my local RV dealer install on Wed. So I HOPE its doesn't take hours. Not with the cost of RV labor :shock:

I just did not want to tackle it myself and could not rustle up any help :(

But I am excited to get it!
 
Joan, something goofed up, I typed you a response about the wall switch but it went poof somehow???

If the light at the cieling is powered by the wall switch, that is still OK, just you will have to flip the light on and off at the light when wanting to use the fan with no light and then flip off the fan when you want the wall switch to work just the light.

You will be happy with the fan.
