M & G Shendandoah River State Park 2012

Hi Sunliners

At the Western Maryland M&G we thought it would be fun to have a meet and greet at Virginia’s Shenandoah River State Park
http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/and.shtml in the fall of 2012. I have tentatively suggested the dates of October 19-21, 2012 but from the reservation site it currently looks like we have several dates we could choose.

Whatcha think ? Any interest ?

Shenandoah River is one of our favorite place to camp, and that date works for us. Let us know when it's official so we can make our reservations!

Pencil us in. We don't usually plan so far ahead, but anything in the Va. mountains in foliage season needs a lead time. Oct. 19 could be peak, or just past peak, of color.

Peak or not, camping IS camping. And if the leaves aren't beautiful, Wright can sure build a REAL nice campfire

Shenandoah River isn't up on the mountain like the national park, so I'd think there would be great leaves! Of course this whole year everything in the plant world has been funky due to the crazy warm winter, so who knows. One year we had colorful leaves at Thanksgiving at Claytor Lake! You just never know

I just booked Barb and I a site October for 18 thru 21. Interesting but you can't book a specfic site # not sure why.

Someone needs to put it on the side where under "Sunline Meet & Greets". We just reserved arrival thursday, departure monday! Good things Gary decided SOBs are OK

Virginia SP are all, to my knowledge, first-come. You are guaranteed a site, just not a specific site. Simplifies things for a budget-stretched park system.

I just reserved a site for Friday 19th through Sunday 21st. I learned my lesson when I waited too long and missed out on a site for the Western Maryland M&G. We have never been to a Sunline gathering so we are looking forward to meeting everyone.

That date works for us as well! SRSP has been our favorite since they opened We usually spend 1-2 full weeks there in October anyways so this M&G will be an added bonus.

Barbara and I love that CG and would be there, except that weekend won't work for us. I'll keep checking here to see if it changes for any reason.
