Just picked up our new 195SR and love it. Wow! What luxury compared to our popup! The guys at Butler RV really took their time and made sure everything was hooked up correctly. A couple from Tennessee had just purchased a Que and gave us a tour of theirs before they left. We went with the Equalizer hitch and prodigy brake control. You can definately tell it's back there but no sway problems. Brought it home on the turnpike with tractor trailers passing. Our 4Runner handled well but gas mileage wasn't so great! No problems until we turned up our street. It is steep and we scraped the skid bars. Then pulling down our driveway we only had about 2 inches before the stabilizer jacks would scrape. Our driveway is steep too. Has anyone used the skid wheels from Camping World? Are there any other options available? So glad there's a Sunline Forum!

Hi Ray and Lynn,

Glad to hear you picked up your 195SR. You've got a very unique unit since so few were made. As for the skid wheels, I used these:

My 2251 was the only trailer I had with the skid bars and I had a good experience with the skid wheels. I don't have a steep driveway, but the end does slope down with a steep "bump" onto the street. As soon as the axles drop onto the street, the bars would drag. With the wheels, it rolled right down and held the weight fine. I even made use of them when backing onto my storage pad, which I have to back in on a 90 degree turn. Doing that really chewed up the wheels, so if I do it again, I would put swivel casters. If your only issue is straight line dragging, those will do fine.

Enjoy your 195SR,
Jon

Thanks Jon for the information!
We'll be purchasing swivel casters. Can't wait to go camping! We had 4" of snow here today. Wil spring ever come?

I don't know! It was 74 here on Tuesday, but then Wednesday night into Thursday morning we had temps in the 20's and 2" of snow, just as all the other melted. I can't stand it!

SNOW - SNOW AND MORE SNOW!

Well I'll take your 2" and 4" compared to what we got and more on the way! :(

By the time it ends on Sunday - we are expecting about 16" +!!!!!!!

Show me that ground hog and he'll be a gonner, I have the rifle loaded and ready to go  Had no school on friday, got 6 inches of the white crap, and now they are calling for rain, just what I need more MUD. Thank goodness Sunny is tucked away in his carport. It better get nice, as I'm headed to Pigeon Forge on April 7th for a week long get to gether with my Open Roads Singles group. So much to do, so little time.

Did he predict an early spring too???? If so he is a gonner also!

I hope no one from a groundhog protection group views this topic :D .
Let me know if anyone sees these little critters. If any of them try to escape to Michigan, they're a gonner here too!

Jon

Hi Ray and Lynn

Congratulation on your new Sunline - you'll love it.

On one of our previous Sunlines, we used skid wheels that attached to the frame drag bars (like the ones Sunline Fan linked to).
The problem we had was because we dragged so much the drag bars ended up bending, even though we had the drag wheels on.

Then what I did, was I cut off the drag bars and installed 4" swivel skid wheels that I got from Camping World. If your Sunline's frame is construted with C channel, there easy to install. The most difficult part is drilling holes through the C channel.

Here's a link to Camping World for the type of skid wheels we used:

Had 60 degree wheather last week - 15" of snow this week-end.
Hopefully spring will be here soon.

Have fun caming.
Hutch

Congratulations on the new Sunny. I hope we can get ours out of the back yard for our trip this weekend
